RESOLUTION APPROVING SUMMARY
PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO.
WHEREAS, the City of Mound, acting by the City Council, has adopted a lengthy
ordinance relating to the zoning and licensing of adult establishments;
WHEREAS, as authorized by Minnesota Statutes, Section 412.191, subd. 4, the
City Council of the City of Mound has determined that publication of the title and
summary of the ordinance will cleady inform the public of the intent and effect of the
ordinance; and
WHEREAS, a printed copy of the ordinance and a copy of the entire text of the
ordinance is available for inspection during regular office hours at the office of the
city clerk and the ordinance will appear in the city code.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MOUND that the following summary of the ordinance is approved for summary
publication:

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 350 OF THE
CITY CODE PROVIDING FOR THE REGULATION OF
ADULT ESTABLISHMENTS IN THE .CITY OF MOUND
The purpose and policy behind the ordinance is to establish reasonable and
uniform zoning and licensing regulations for Adult Establishments to promote the
health, safety, morals, and general welfare of the citizens of the City. The
ordinance is not meant to restrict or limit the content of adult-oriented materials,
but rather to address the potential negative secondary effects of such
businesses.
The ordinance defines and establishes zoning and licensing regulations for adult
establishments. The ordinance allows adult establishments as a permitted use in
the B-1 Central Business District, Pedestrian PUD District and the I-1 Industrial
District subject to certain conditions. Adult establishments must be located a t
least 200 feet from residential, public, school, church, park, and daycare property
and at least 200 feet from another adult establishment.
The Ordinance establishes a licensing scheme for adult establishments,
including specific requirements to qualify for a license and specific
disqualifications. The ordinance establishes a license fee, and provides
procedures for suspension and revocation of a license.
Copies of the complete ordinance are available upon request from the City Clerk.
The Ordinance is effective on the day following the date of publication of this
ordinance summary.
