The purpose of th~s Special ~eeting was to recelwe recommend~tlons
from ~rustee B. F. U~inkel with reference to his choice of one to
succeed him as councilman during his absence in the army. The
meeting was open, also, to such other matters ss might be pressing
for attention. R~sponding to roll call were ~ayor Louise Muest!s,
TrUstees B. !:~. Winkel, Evan Jones, and R, J. Rondorf, with ~.lwin
as Recorder.
With the opening of the meeting, discussion centered around a
prooosal to elect ~r. Calvin Inman to serve on the council during
the absence of Trustee P. F. Winkel. ,~.~r. Inms.n being present to
acceot the candidacy, it was agreeable to the council to take uo
the matter of his election at the next regular meeting of the council~
on Aoril 7th, 1942.
~eooriing for the Committee on Park Pavilion flurescent lighzs,
Trustee Winkel moved that ~.he council authorize the purchase of
lights at s. orice of $90.00. Also that it acce~t an installation
chsr~,e of aooroximazely $9.00. T~is motion was seconded by '~'rustee
~ondorf, the council agreeing.
,&fter listening to a re~ort by Trustee ~va.n Jones on his interview
with the Board of County Commissioners of Hennepin ~ounty on instal-
lations and housing of the oounty Well and Pump, and after l~.stenlng
to the reading of an agreement s.s between the village of !~ound and the
County of ~ennepin with reference to the same, ~'~lwin moved that the
council accept ~he agreement as read, and that the ~,fayor and the
~zlerk be authorized to sign it to give it the force of a contract.
Trustee ~ondorf supporting the motion, the council v~ted i~s concurrence
In line with the above action, Trustee Winkel presented the follow-
ing resolution snd moved for it? adoption:
WHEREA~, the County of Hennepin, by its Board of County
Co.~missloners, has offere~ to sell to the Village of ~ound its
eeuipment now in place on Lot 34, Auditor's ~ubdivision No. 167,
connected with the well, which ecuipment consists in part of pump
and elec~rlc motor. NOW, TMEREFORE, it is hereb~ resolved that the
Village of "ound acceot the offer of said County.~oard snd pay to
~he County o'f ~ennepin the sum of ~250.00 in payment of said pumo,
motor, ~nd. ot~er e~ulpment.
~lwin seconding the motion for adoption of the above resolution, the
vote of the council was un,~nimous. ..
There being no f~rther business, the meeting adjourned on motion.
