Responding to roll call were ~.~ayor Louise ~uestis, 'trustees Jones and Rondorf, with Alwln as~ Recorder. !~/r. Calvin Inman was present to assume his ses. t upon his election by the council. After the reading of the ~inutes of the .~egulsr ~!ee~ing of ~arch 3rd, of the AdJo~rned Regular ?eetlng of ~,~arch 10th, of the ?~peclal ~'!eetingsof ~arch lSth, 24th, and 31~t, 'l~rustee Jones moved that the introductory matter to his motion for the postoonement of bids be struck from the records and thst the minutes be limited to the bare motion, u'rustee Rondorf supported this motion, the council agreeing. ~'hls change was to appear in the !~inutes of the ~egu~s.r i~eeting of ~arch 3rd, 1942. Another chsnge was authorized on Page 636 of the ~inutes, second paragraph, wherein it appears that ~ather Garland presented the form of a lease, when, in fact, the lease was presented by ~'~r. N. E. Pardee, attorney for the village. With these changes and corrections, the ~lnutes stood ~pproved on motion by trustee Hondorf, trustee Jones supporting. Trustee Rondorf moved that the council ratify Calvin Inman to' serve as councllms, n during tD~e absence of Trustee Winkel while on duty in the U. ~. Army, such action being in conformance with the legal opinion of ~ttorney £~eneral J..~\. ~.. Burneuist on file in ~he Village Office. This motion was supported by ~lwin, the council concurring. Trustee In,an moved that the assessment roll for the Slummer Ave. Main Extension, as presented by the Clerk, be aoproved and acceot- ed by the Council. This motion was secondet by Trustee Jones, the council agreeing. Trustee Jones presented the following resolution snd moved for its adoption: WMEREAS at a special meeting of the Village Council of the Village of ~ound held in the Couhcil Room in said village on the 24th day of ~arch, 1942, a resolution was duly adopted by the c, ouncil determining that the cost of the water main extension on Plummet Avenue, known as water main extension No. 7, shall be assessed against the adjoining lots and parcels of land according to the benefits received, except that the cost of the hydrant shall be borne by the Village of ~,~ound, and whereas the village clerk and engineer were directed to spread the assessments upon and among such adjoining lots and parcels of land, and whereas such proposed assessment as been duly made and has been filed in the office of the village clerk and is now open ~'or public inspection. NO.~, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved that notice be given by one week's publication of this resolution in the ~innetonka Pilot to all owners of lots and parcels of land affected by said improvement, ond to all oersons interested, to sppe8r at an adjourned meeting of this council to be held in the council room in said village on the 24th Day of .April, 1942, at 8 o'clock .P. ~. to state any objections there may be to such proposed assessment as to any property therein specified, before such pro- posed assessment shall be considered by the council for adoption and confirmation. VILLAGE OF MOUND 641 In connection with the purchase of a suitable pump for the ~ounty well, Trustee Inman moved that the chair be authorized to appoint a committee of three to contact the nearest field office o£ the Federal Rating Board to secure the necessary P~iority Hating for the village. This motion was supported by Alwin, the council agreeing. In response to this motion, .~ayor Huestis appointed Trustees Jones and Rondorf and Water Department guperintendent J. H. ~tatts to serve as a committee of three to. make the above contact. ~Frustee Jones presented the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLVED that all costs of maintenance and new street construction - including labor and materials - be charged to the Road Improvement Fund. · rt~stee Rondorf seconding the motion for the adoption of the above resolution, the vote of the council stood unanimous. After listening to the treasurer's report for the month, Trustee Jones moved that the treasurer's report be accepted ss read. Trustee Inman seconde~ the motion, the council agreeing. Trustee Rondorf moved for the removal and relocation of the village park toilets according to recommendations and specifications on file at the clerk's office. Trustee Jones supnorted this motion, the council concurring. On a motion by Trustee Jones, w. T. Madsen was authorized to prepare specifications and to inspect construction in connection with the relocation of the village park toilets. Trustee Rondorf moved that the Clerk be authorize& to pay $5.00 out of the Off Sale Liquor Fund to 5~rs. 5{abel Huff for work d~ne during the Off Sale Store's removal.from ~!~eton. Trustee Jones seconded this motion, the council concurring. Trustee Jones moved that Council Minutes be limited to the recording of mere motions and seconds. Trustee Hondorf seconded this motion, the council agreeing. On a motion by Trustee Rondorf, the following bills were checked by tn, council and authorized to be paid: Geo. R Cole, colic, $ llG.~O ".
