Responding to roll call were ?'.ayor Louise Muestis, Trust~s ~ondorf and Inman, with f~,lwin as Recorder. Truste~ Jones did not a. poes~r at the meetly. A hearing was given to the ~ound Union Cemetary Association, in the persons of ~?r. M. I. Morton, ~¢rs. A. L. ~ebo, and ?,~ir.-~¢. M. A. Koehler. This delegation presented the proposition of having the village take over the cemetary and care for it as part of the Jurisdiction and duty of a local Park Board. '~his view was expressed by ~'.~r. Koehler, and supported by ~,~rs. '.'~.ebo and ?~:!r. Morton. In answer to lhe s,bove, Trustee ~ondorf moved that action by the council on the ms. tier be deferred until an ~dJourned ~egular ~eeting of the council to convene on ~onda~m, ~¢ay llth, 1942, at ~. P. ~. This motion was seconded by 'Trustee Inman, the council concurring. Hearing the petition of ~rs. ~argaret I.undell, who had temporarily been retired from ?~. P. A. to meet the conditions of her social security payments and, in consecuence, needed financi21 aid, it w~s moved by Alwin that ~rs. Lundell be allowed a payment of ~30.00 for the month of ~J~ay. This motion was supported by ~'rustee !nm~n, ~he rest of the council concurring. In connection with financing the PIummer tvenue ?ater ~.~ain .Extension, Alwin presented the following Resolution and moved its adoption: WHERE$S, it has heretofore been resolved by the council of the village of 5~ound to extend the water main on Plummet Avenue between Bryant Avenue and Chase Avenue in said village known as water main extension No. 7, the contract for which construction ha~ been l~t heretofore ~.nd the cost of which is the sum of $2,700.00 %o be paid through assessments levied against the lots, pieces or parcels of land benefitted by such extension except the cost of hydrant, now, therefore, it is he. reby resolved that said improvement be fins~nced by the issue s. nd sale of water main certificates of IndeStedness in the su~ of U2,700.00 to be paid in installments over a oeriod of nineteen years, by eighteen ~nnual installments of $150.00 each, the earliest maturing installment to become due and payable on ~he first day of June, 1943, and sn inst~,llment in the sa~e amoun~ to be ps. Id ~nnu~lly there,.fret on ~he 1st day of June of each year un!il ~he entire amount is paid, that s~id insfallments be issued with such interest as shall be offered to be paid, not exceedin~ 6 per cent per annum, said certlflcate~ of indebtedness to be dated and issued as of June 1st, 1942. And be it further resolved that the full f~=Ith and credit of the Village of ~'found be pledged to the payment of said certificates of indebtedness and that interest on said certificates of Indebted- ness shall be pay~,ble semi-annually on the 1st day of ~une and on the 1st day.of December of each year at ~such rete as shall be offered by the purchaser of said certificates and accepted by the council, and be it further resolved that the sale of said certificates of indebtedness be advertised by inserting a copy of this resolution as a notice of such sale kn the ~innetona pilot, a legal newspaper published at ~ound, Hennepin Country, ~.~tnnesota, for two issues, the first oubllcat~on to be on the 7th ds.y of ~ay, 1942, to give notice %o the public that a special meeting of the village council will be helu in %he council room in said l~illage on the 26tM day of Nay, 19~2, a% 646. Trustee Inman seconding the motion for the adoDtlon of the above resolutiu., ~ d the vote of the council stood unanimous. :.~n so th~ resolution stood adopted. On a suggestion by ~ayor Huestis and by general agreement without motion, t~-e council authorized that properly surveyed street lines be drawn for Iake '~treet through the village park and that all obstructions De removed from wlt~the street limits. Further, that ~'Ixtures and wiring ~'or oark grounds illumination,that have been removed, be restored. Also that all. out~Ide doors of the Park Pavilion now turning inward De reversed to turn outward - this ss ~ r~s. fety measure in ca~e of fire. Cna motion by '±'rustee Rondorf, the council suthori.oed the clerk to drawn an order on the village treasury in the sum of ~ 5.00 and in favor of the America.m Legion Post 398, ~ . . as a donation to hel~ defray expenses incident to the .,'~merlcan Legion Convention to be held here in ?found durln~'~ the ?onth of June, !942. This motion was seconded by Trustee Inman. ']Vlth the understanding that other potential contributors take the lead and donate toward financin~ the sending of the ?,innetonka Pilot to ¥ound boys in the U. ~. Army, 0~rustee Rondorf moved that the Village of ~ound be willing and agreed to contribute ~$25.00 toward such a ~ur~ose.
