1942-05-1164'8 VILLAGE OF MOUND ~gIMUTE~ OF THE ADJOL~qNED REGI~AR 5~MTING OF THE MOUND VILAAGM COUNCIL held ~.~ay llth, 1942. The primary purpose of this meeting was to review a prooosal made by the ~ound Union Cometary Association to ha.ve the Village of ~&und ia_we over the oossession and care of the ~,~ound Cometary. The meeting being an Adjourned Regular, it w~s ~lso open to other business. Responding to ro~l-c~ll were ~.~ayor Louise Muestls, Trustees Jones, Rondorf, and Inman, with ~lwin ?s Recorder. ~Ith reference to de]_ayed action by the ~,"ederal Government in authorizing a priority rating on an suxillary oump for the village, Trustee Jones moved that the clerk "wire" the ~ar Production tOoard at :~ashington to the effect that an emergency exim~tS with reference to the village wa~ter supply. This motion~ae supported by Inm~n, the council concurring. Jones moved that the Chair aoooint a committee of two to meet with th@ ~ound Union Cometary ~.ssociat~on to go over the records of that organi- zatlon to enable the council to a decision in either accepting or reject- ing a pro,oosal for the village to take charge of the cemetery. ~±'rustee Inman seconded the motion, the council agreeing. ~ayor Muestls appointed Alwin and Inman to serve on the above committee. T~uetee Inman _~sde a motion in effect that the village construct a walk of gravel and of shale over the shortest distance between the park pavilion and the Park toilet, alwin seconding this motion, it carried by the council. Alwln m~ved that John Collins, electrician, b~ authorized to give an e~tl~ate as to the cost of' rep~Irin~ ~he ~l~~h~the floodlight~ of tbs Village Psrk ~nd in changing the oark lights to a separate meter. Also, to estimate the co~t of running an extension to the park toilet. Trustee Rondorf seconding the motion, it was carried by the council. By general agreement and without motion, the clerk was authorized to ~dvertlse the contents of a re~olution pas~ed by the vl]l~ge council on 5~ar. 5th, 1940, with reference to the division of the cost of village street maintenance and repair and the required prelimin~ry procedures. Trustee Rondorf moved that the village advertise for bids on 10,000 gallons of street oil, specifications for which to be supplied by Trustee Evan Jones. Trus~tee Jones supporting this motion, it. was con- curred in by the council. ' ~ On a motion by Trustee Rondorf, the clerk was authorized to purchase an aoprop~late No Parking sign to be placed in front of the village post office to enable the loading and unloading of village mail.
