1942-07-07658 VILLAGE OF MOUND 5¢INUTES OF THE REGL~¢R ~,~MMTING CF T~ MO%~D VILLAGE COUNCIL HELD July ?th , 2942. Responding to roll-call were ~ayor Louise Muestis, Trustees Mvan Jones, ~ . J. Rondorf, and Calvin Inman, with .Alwln as ~ecorder. The minutes of the previous meetings of the month of June having been read and approved, the chair opened the meeting for the recep- tion of such bids as had been advertised for a hearing. ~r. Molzheuser and ~r. Bartlett, representing the Badger ~eter Co. of ~.ilw~ukee, being the sole bidder on water meters, presente~thelr bid on 48 water meters as $528.00, minus freight and 2%. On a motion by Trustee Rondor~, trustee Inman supporting, the council acceoted the bid of the Badger ~.(eter Co. an~ authorized the clerk to drawn a village warrant in the amount of $510,15 in favor of the ~adger ~eter Co., which represented the ~.mount of the bid minus de- ductions, such remittance to be made uoon delivery of the meters. The clerk read the bid of =. B. Kelm on I0,000 or more gals of Road Oil, deliveries to be subject to and limited by a possible government freezing order date. a. B. Kelm being the only bidder on ~tl, it was moved by trustee Inman that Kelm's bid of 09.g5 per gal. be accepted b? the council. This motion was seconded by 'l'rustee ~ondorf, the rest of the council concurring. Earl ?;. Olson presented his verbal petition for adjustments on water bills, one affecting his home, ~nd the other pertsining to the local Pure Oil Sta. when under the management of ~{. W. Kellogg. ~y general council agreement, the household bill was reduced from $6.66 to $3.09. The ad3sstment resting on an error of the clerk's. With respect to the Orlie Parker account covering the Pure Oil ~ta.~the council con- ceded that the bill had been incurred prior to Olson's ownership and that no obligation rested upon the present owner, olson, however, ~cknowledge liability in connection with the M. W. Kellogg account and was agreed to. remit for the balance due, i. e.,$10.67. On a motion by Trustee Evan Jones, the'clerk w~s authorized to order a 2" nozzle and a 1~" nozzle, also a ~iamese Coupling, the same as originally ordered from the ©,uaker Rubber Corooration, the order now, however,to go to the Mewtt% Rubber Corooratlon, who had reporled itself able to mske im~edi~.te delivery. ~y general agreement and without motion, the clerk was instructed to bill the Streater Lbr Co. for pumping water out of the basements of the Off ~ale and the On Sale Stores at the rate of $1.50 per hour. The clerk was aisc instructed to confer with the J. P. Reed Insurgence agency with reference to dams.ge done ~nd leaks ~mmsed in the Park pavilion roof, the same presumably b~t hail. By common council, clerk was suthorlzed to contact consent of the the the.Industrial Contracting Company to renew negotiations towards the the installation o~ the Plummet Ave.Wwater main extension. Trustee ~. J. Rondorf moved that necessary funds be transferred from the Liquor Fund to the General Fund to enable a retirement of the present outstanding warrantsindebtedness of the village. This motion was seconded by Trustee Jones, the rest of the council concurring. VILLAGE OF MOUND G59 On the presentations of Attorney N. E. Pardee, Alwin moved that ~30.00 be advanced for the relief of ~rs. Nargaret LundelI, sa~e being for the month of July. This motion was supported by Trustee Rondorf and carried by the council.
