~INUTES OF THE SPECIAL ~EETING OF THE ~0UND VILLAGE COUNCIL MELD
July 24, 1942.
The purpose of this meeting was to be one of fact finding in connection
with the installs, tion of a hlgh~ressure pump on Oounty Pilot Well No.
4 as an auxiliary water supply. This action was prompted by adverse
findings while preparing the well for installation. Kesponding to
roll-call of the Eouncll were ?ayor Louise Huestls, Trustees R. J. Rondorf
and Galvin Inman, with Alwin as Recorder. ~eeting also with the
Council were 7~. M. A. Koehler and Gust. Broeckert of the Village Planning
~oard, and H. I. Morton, G. A. Tyler, and N. E. Pardee of the Village
~ontng ~oard. Present as techn~caI advisors were Geo. Keyes of the
~Weyes ~ell Drilling Co., L. J. Memphill of the L. J. Memphill ~ell &
Pu~p Co, and ~illard Johnson of the Peerless ~ump ~o. Einar Jeopesen
of the ~oard of County Commissioners was preseut in the interest of
the County ~nd the Village.
After listening to the report of L. J. Memphill on his findings with
respect ~to the County ?;ell, supported by evidence furnished by
Commissioner Jeppesen, and comments by ~%~illsrd J~hnson and others on
pump operations and well locations, the council went into session
initiated by a motion by Trustee Pondorf to the effect 'that the council
accept the offer of l,Villard Johnson to get in touch with the ~geerless
Pump Factory in order to determine the pumping capacity of the old
village pump. All of thistto point toward the need of an overhaul
of the old pump's pumping column, ~s well as other reoairs. This
motion was sec~onded by Inman, the council ~.greeing.
By general ~greement and without motion, the council accepted the
offer of County Commissioner Jeppesen to interview the Layne-~estern
~o. on the whys and wherefors of certain conditions found in the
County ~elI~ and as to its true condition and capacit.v.
L. J. Memphill was instructed ~y the council to c. ease his operations
at the 6ounty Moll, and the clerk was authorized to have it sealed
against vandalism.
There being no, further business, the meeting adjourned.
