1945-06-20VILLAGE OF MOUND MINI~'fES OF THE ADJOURNED EEGUI~R MEETING OF THE MOUND VILLAGE COUNCIL held June 2Otb, 1945. Present for roll-call at this meeting were Mayor ~uise ~uestis, · lrustees Neweem~, Broeckert, and Rond~rf, with Alvin recording. The meeting eoened with the reading of the minutes of the regular meeting of June 5th, 1945. ,ith the approval of the minutes, Mayor Hue~tls pr. esented a legal petition, offered under Section 1201, Mason's Minnesota statutes 1927, and signed by William £ Greig and ~argaret B. Grelg, his wife, and by Alex W. Sewall and Mrs. Xathryn S. Sewall, all of whom reoresente~ 100 ~ ef .the property ownership ~ronting e.n Buckbee ~iwe, which the pe%itlen requested be condemned, in response tc the intent of the petition, Alvin presented the following resolution and mowed its ad~ption, to wit: Inasmuch as the Mound ~illage oouncil is the recipient of a legal petition signed by and representin~ 100 ~ of the ~rontage e.n ~uck~ee ~riwe, a platted and public .street in a village section, or subaiwisian, known as the Baptist Stammer Assembly, and, inasmuch as. t~e sl~natories to ~ts petition are t~e only ones served by t~ts stree%, and, on their own statement, deC,are that such service is no longer necessary or desired, and ~hat it is te the public interest, as well as te their interest, tha~ said ~uckboe ~riwe Oe condemned, ~OW, ~'HE~'.0~J/., it is hereby resolved, aha so erdereC, tha_~ ~ckbee Drive of ~he ~aptists Summer. ~ssem~ly ~e ~en~emnea and the lots fronting upen it move tacit respective frontiers to the center of the street in even division. ~. ~'. ~roeckert seconding t~e motion for tne aaoptlon ex'tthe above resolution, the vote of' the council, stood unanimous. On the invitation of Mayor ~uestls, mr. michard ,:. orawford, re,resenting ~. Peter and mankato natural gas interests, and inter- ested in a smrvey to determine the natural gas consuming potential of the Lake Minnetenka region, incl~dlng the ~illage of Mound, same ~o~nting to future franchises with ,.ake communities in a postwar natural gas development, addressed the council on this matter. After rea~ing and considering severalforms ef ~uilding Ordinances,. it was agree~ by the council, and without motion, that several c~e~vies be etruck of the material available, same to be distributed among the members for further study before any definite action be taken on the matter. On a motion ~y Newcemb, r~ndorf seconding, the clerk was autherize~ to notify DePuty SherSff ~rank L. Groschen cf his appointment~ by the council to serve as Officer of the Day" at Mound Village Park on July 4th, 1945, and to ask for a definite acceptance or rejection of the ao_oelmtment.
