Responding itc roll call at this meet lng was a full council in the persons of iMayor Louise Hu~stis, trust~.s Newcomb, Rondorf, and Broeckert,. with Alwtn recording. Present also for a hearing a delegation from the Mound North Shore Civic; hamet$,-R. E. 0~Donnell and K. Kamman. After a perUsallof 'village bills. $2~ the reading of the minutes of of the meetings of Sept. 4th and'Tth, which were approved as read, with the exception that specific reference to village territory proposed aS a future village industrial zone, and as presented in the minute8 of September 7th, was to be stricken from the records, the meeting opened with a report by the clerk covering correspondence between the clerk and members of the Board of County Gommissioners ahd Hennepin Co. Highway Engineer respecting the channeling of the Byer~s Bay"~arsh to a Juncture with Norwood Avenue. This reoort showed no present availabla action by the County due to lack' of county fun~s and other commitments, which the council, of necessity, a~proved, ~nd ordered all correspondence filed fOr later refer~ence. R. E. 0'Donnell of the Northshore Civic Club, given a hearing, requested Millage a~roval and aid in preparing the Park Pavilion and surroundinEs as a year-around social and civic center. To this, by g~neral assent, the council was agreed, pending a more detailed pMogram to be developt and presented by the civic club. D:ayor Hues~is appointed herself and Trustee i~ewcomb as a committee of the council to confer with the Civic ~lub on these develop- ments. On a personal petition to revive "Hasting's Log Cabin" as a fill- ing station and commercial enterprise, same being out of zone, K'.~ K~ah~'ah~' iW~'s' r'eTerr'ed' t'o' %h~e' Viq_.3.'a~';e' %~'a~d· of Zoning Appeals for recor.~mendations by this board for action by the council. On a motion by trustee Newcomb, supported by Rondorf, same being on the petiition of Walter Madsen, the clerk was authorized to process papers for an additional street li~t at the intersection of Young and Maple Avenues of the Baptist Assembly Grounds. The council having approved the aopllcatlon of Andrew Krause for a Building P~rmit, it was moved by Newcomb that the clerk be instructed to issue same under the provisions of the Village Buildin~t Ordinance. This motion was supported by A1wln, the council agreeing. A communication from the Public Employees Retirement Association with reference to including [.~ound Village employees in a State wide Public ~5~fEE§ ~IR~EN~ program was tabled pending a!~proval of village employees of such a program.
