Meeting cal~d by mayor to set a public hearing for improvement of highway No. ll0. ~fter considerable discussion the following RESOLUTION was offered by Ray PIERCE: WHERE&S, it is proposed to improve temporary t~unk highway No. 110 from the Great Northern tracks north to the village limits at an estimated cost of $25,000. and to assess the abutting property ~or one half of the cost of the curb and gutter and the total cost of t~e sidewalk pursuant to M.S.A. Sections 412.401 to 412.481 (Laws 1949, Ch. 119, Secs. ~0 to 60), NOW, THEREF0.~E, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL of Mound, Minnesota: That a public hearing be held by the council on this proposed improvement in the Krause Bldg. on Tuesday, June ~, 19~1, at 8:00 p.m. and that the manager prepare and publish two weeks' notice of such hearing as required by law. On reco'm~endation of liquor store manager Pat Nagel the village manager requested permission of the council to advertise for bids for a 12 x 42 foot addition to the rear of the municipal building. Building would be s~Iuared off from the vault to the east edge. Addition wo~ld be used for storage for off sale store. Also requested that a 10 x 10 walk-in cooler be built into the ad{~ition using three existing walls (after addition is on). Manager was authorized to advertise for bids for both projects. Street drainage goes into Harrison Bay via an open ditch on the south end of Larson's lot. Henry Neises who owns adjoining property aZso present. Larson stated he intened to fill in lot. Village Attorney Wolner said that property owner who diverted ~urf~ce water from its natural flow did so at his own peril. S.lggestion by ~'~oite that manager look over problem vi th Larson and make recommendation. Mayor Davis arrived and took over chair. George E~gster, Ralph March and ~radle¥ Morrison of Park Committee present to give report to council.
