Meeting held at 2:00 p.m. to receive and open bids on the improvement of trunk highway no. 110 from Great Northern tracks to the north village limits. White, Blv and Winkel Dresent. Bids received from Ashworth & Son, St. Louis Park; Alexander Construction ~o. of Minneapolis, and Park Construction Co. of Minneapolis. There were several different proposals but Park Constr~ctio~ Co. was low no matter which way t¼e bids were figured. Excavations on west end of ~'ake Langdon again discussed. ~r. Blv and Mr. Winkel had both viewed the protested excavation on the property of Everett $ohns with the village manager. Bi¥ offered the following RESOLUTION: WHE~_~S, recent excavations on the west end of Lake Lang~on have resulted in several protests from residents of the area, and, WHERE~S, the village council is desirous of having areas that can be excavated in or near.t~oe village so that fill dirt for roads can be readily obtained, now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that no further excavations be permitted within the village limits where dirt is taken out b'elow the nearby street grade or below an~e~wat~on established by the village manager, and, BE IT ~URTHER R~SOLVED, that the propert~ owner agrees to z~ properly slope the ba~cs where the excavation is 'made to meet the aP]0roval of the village manager.
