unanimously that subject to transferable funds we purchase the

~.~ In regard to the light bill for the Park in the amount of
$~a~, the Manager reported that Casino, Inc., claim it was
never their understanding that they would pay for lights on the
grounds. However, we do not have separate meters for the build-
ing and the grounds. Mr. Guy of Casino, Inc., has said that he
would be willing to pay half the bill. Mr. Eugster, Chairman
of the Park Board, has said he thought this would be fair. Mr.
Behmler moved that we go along with the Park Board's recommenda-
tion and pay half the light bill. Mr. Livingston seconded,
and it was carried unanimously.
Mr. Leikvold said that we need more room in the tin shed
for storing our cars and equipment, and that the east room is
practically wasted. He offered that this room could be reno-
vated by our own men with approximately $500 worth of material.
Mr. Livingston moved that the Council authorize the Village
Manager to proceed with this idea if the cost would be under
$500. Mr. Behmler seconded and the motion was carried unani-
mously.
The Manager reported that he felt it would be better to
try to get along with our present police car until next spring,
thereby obtaining a newer model to trade in the next time.
The Manager reported that Ferdinand Schwartz resigned
from the police force as of November 1, 1952. The Council
left the hiring of a f~ll-time policeman to fill this vacancy
to the Manager.
There was some discussion of a build=ng for Louis Sohns
at the dump. The matter was left to the Manager.
The Manager informed the Council that Project #14 is now
completed and accepted by the State. The Manager recommended
that we pat the Contractor $25,000 of his ~7,243.24 bill now
and pay him the remainder when the Village receives the State's
share. Mr. Davis moved that we transfer ~13,000 out of the
P.I.R. Fund to be paid back when the Village receives the money
from the State, and that this sum together with $12,000 from
Project #14 F~nd be paid to the Contractor on account. Mr.
Livingston seconded, and by unanimous vote the motion was
carried.
