1952-12-171379 VILLAGE OF MOUND CONTINUED HEARING ON VACATION OF A PORTION OF LINDEN STR~ET December 17, 19~2 The 'meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. Present were Acting Mayor Behmler, Trustees Pierce and Livingston, Manager Leikvold and Attorney Kelley. After some discussion of the vacation of a oortion of Linden Street, the Council directed the Village Manager to write the following letter: Dec. 18, 1952 Mound Metalcraft, Inc. Mound, Minnesota Gentlemen: This letter is written to you at the direction of the Mound Village Council. The Council has considered your ex- pansion problem and suggests the following courses of action: 1. The Council will vacate Linden Street as now laid out. 2. Prior to vacating Linden Street, Mound Metalcraft will furnish the Village of Mound a written in- demnifying.agreement wherein Mound Metalcraft will agree to indemnify the Village up to the sum of Three Hundred Sixty Dollars (};360.00) toward the installation of a new water line on School Street from Highway 110 to the intersection of Linden Street; further, that Mound Metalcraft will grant the village and their agents permission to enter upon Linden Street until the new water line is installed, for the purpose of making any oossible water line repairs and will re-imburse the Village for all expenses incurred by the repairing of this water line. 5. The Village of Mound will sell to Mound Metalcraft that small triangle of land abutting on Linden Street, now owned by the Village, for One Dollar (~1.00) and other val,~able consideration, orovided that Mound Metalcraft will give the Villa~e a certi- ficate guaranteeing that all further buildings built on Lots 2,3,4 and ~ Koehler's Addition to Mound be located 26 feet North of the North line of Dell Street and in the event any building is constr~lcted on this property Mound Motalcraft will give the Village of Mound an easement for road purposes across the South 26 feet of Lots 2,3,4, and ~ Koehler's Addition to Mound. Leikvold Village Manager 1380 VILLAGE OF MOUND Pierce moved, Livingston seconded, and it was carried unani- mously MINUTES OF THE ~KDJO~RNED REGULAR MEETING, December 17, 1952 This meeting was called to order immediately after the hear- ing on the vacation was adjo~.~rned. Present were Acting Ma~or Behmler, Trustees Livingston and Pierce and Manager Leikvold. Mr. Carlson of Carlson Construction Com~oanv was present in regard to final payment of his bill due on Project 14. He said that inasmuch as the Village had not paid Carlson Construction Compan~ the full amount within the stipulated thirty days, that the Village should withdraw the bill they have against The Carl- son Construction Company in the amount of ~$361.~0. After some discussion Livingston moved, Pierce seconded, and it was car~oied unani'mouslv that the Village drop i~145.00 of this bill. A warming house for the skating rink at the school was dis- cussed. The Council felt that the Village sho~ld take care of their own rinks. Pierce moved that the Manager be instructed to repair the Park Pavilion for a warming house and clean the snow from the ice. &lso that the Vi1] age clean the sno~ from the ice at any place on the lake where people might want to skate, snd that the amount the Village is to spend on skating is not to exceed i~2~0.00.
