Vill age Manager MINUTES 0F ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING, July 28, 1955 Meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. in the Village Office. Present were Mayor Behmler, Trustees Pierce, Livingston and Wenkstern and Manager Leikvold. 0IL STATION Connors 0il Company of St. Bonifacius presented an applica- tion to erect a filling station on Lot 46, Auditor's Subdivision #167. The Council tabled the matter until they could hear fr~m interested citizens. FIRE HALL Wenkstern moved the following resolutioz be adopted: WHEREAS, Patch & Erickson, Wayzata, Minnesota, and B. I. Petri, Navarre, Minnesota, have heretofore been engaged as architects for the construction of the new fire hall at a rate of compensation hereto- fore fixed, and WHEREAS, said architects have submitted final working drawings and specifications for said fire hall, and WHEREAS, the same have been submitted INFORMATIOI~[. TO BIDDEBs MOUND FIRE STATION Village of Mound Sealed bids 'will be received in duplicate at the office of the Village Manager in the Village of Mound, Minnesota until 8:00 p.' m. on the 22nd day of August, 1955 and then publicly opened and considered at 'that time by the Village Council at the Council chambers in said Village for the furnishing of all labor, materials tools, equipment and skin re- quired for the construction of a new municipal fire station, in- c!uding all mechanical consider- ations, The building will .be Io-i cared within the corporate limits of. the Village of Mound, Minne- sota, and the work shall be car-, tied out in strict accordance. with 't~ plans and` SPecificatiOns pre~ p~d by Patch, and EriCkson, 3~3 ~_etonka'. Copies of plans, .tpeciflcations, contract documents and proposal forms may be obtained at the architects office on and after July 26, 1955 upon a deposit of Twenty ($20.00) Dollars. Depo- sits will be refunded to all bid- ders upon return of the afore- mentioned documents in good condition within ten days after receipt of bids. Additional _copies of the plans, .specifications, etc., may be o~tained from the archi- feets office upon payment of Twenty ($20.00) Dollars each, Ten ($10.00)-Dollars of which will be refunded upon return of the plans, specifications, etc., within ten days from receipt of bids. Proposals shall be made on forms similar to th~se attached to and made a part of the propos- ed contract documents and shah be addressed to the Village Man- ager, of the Village of Mound, Minnesota and endorsed "Propo- sal for Mound Fire Station." All bids shall be on the basis of cash payrnent for the worl~.'No bid will be'.conl~idered unless sealed and filed with the Village Man, ager' and accompanied by a cash deposit, bid bond, or certified check made payable to the Vil- lage Clerk of Mound, MinneSota in an amount equal to 5, per cent of the sum of the total ~bid. Have contractor figure on a 3 foot addition to Rooms 7, 6 and 4; b. Have contractor figure on one additional stall; c. Change women,s toilet making it one foot wider and with a door from the garage; d. Figtwe alternate for omission of floor fixtures, and MtEREAS, said changes are agreeable to the architects provided they be paid an additional $100.00 therefor; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: 1. Said ~rking drawings and speCifi- cations be approved with the foregoing changes; 2. The architects be authorized to add to their ccmpensation heretofore agreed upon, an additional $100.00. FIRE HALL Bids Livingston moved that the bids on the Fire Hall be opened August 22, 1955. Pierce seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously. VILLAGE OF MOUND SEWER SYSTEM Wenkstern offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: WHEREAS, Pfeiffer and Shultz, Engineers, Wesley Temple Bldg., Minneapolis, Minnesota, have submitted to the Council a proposed contract for preliminary plans for a sewer system with provision therein for engaging Pfeifer and Schultz as engineers if said sewer system is subsequently undertaken by the Village., and WHEREAS, certain changes in said contract have been recom- mended by the Village Attorney and agreed to by the engineers to insure that the Village is not obligated to the engineers to en- gage them beyond the preliminary survey unless subsequently authorized by the village, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: The Mayor-and Village Manager be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute said contract, with the changes therein recommended, for and on behalf of the village.
