1955-08-08MINUTES 0F REGULAR MEETING, August 8, 1955 Meeting called to order in the Village Office by Mayor Behmler at 8:00 P.M. Present were Mayor Behmler, Trustees Pierce, Livingston, Litts and Wenkstern, Attorney Bonham and Manager Leikvold. Minutes of regular meeting of July 11 were read. Litts moved, Livingston seconded, and it was unanimously carried to approve the minutes as read. Minutes of the adjourned Board of Review minutes of July 11 were read. Livingston moved, Wenkstern seconded, and it was unani- mously passed to approve the minutes as read. Minutes of adjourned regular mmeting of July 18 were read. Litts moved, Li ~vingston seconded, and it was unanimously passed to approve the minutes as read. Minutes of adjourned regular meeting of July 25 were read. Pierce moved, Wenkstern seconded, and it was unanimously passed to approve the minutes as read. Minutes of adjourned regular meeting of July 28 were read. Livingston moved, Wenkstern seconded, and it was unanimously passed to .approve the minutes as read. BUILDING PERMITS The following building permits were reviewed: Gerald C. Jenson Chas. E. B. Connors. A petition was presented to the Council asking that the application be denied. The application was tabled ~at Connors' request. JUSTICE OF PEACE Livingston offered the following resolution and moved, its adoption: WHEREAS M. Charles Kelley has resigned as Justice of the peace, which resignation was accepted by the Council at its i584 VILLAGE OF MOUND regular meeting of June 13, 1955, creating a vacancy in this office, and WHEREAS James Adams has resigned his office of Constable, NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED That James Adams be appointed to the office of Justice of the Peace. The resolution was seconded by Litts and carried unanimously. TAXI LICENSE Lawrence Gerold An application was presented asking the Council to grant a taxi license to Lawrence Gerold. Livingston moved that subject to rules and regulations the license be granted. Lites seconded the motion and it was carried by a three to t~ vote, Wenkstern and Behmler dissenting. CARNIVAL - Lions Club Pierce moved that the Lions be given permission to hold a carnival in the Village August 19, 20 and 21. Litts seconded the motion and it was passed unanimously. FI RE HALL Litts offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: WHEREAS pursuant to a resolution passed by the Council on September 13, 1954, Patch and Petri, the architects retained for the purpose, have prepared plans and specifications for the Fire Hall and have presented such plans and specifications to the Council for approval, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED Such plans and specifications, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, are hereby approved. Pierce seconded the resolution and on roll call the vote was as follows: Litts Aye Pierce Aye Wenkstern Aye Livingston Aye Behmler Aye and so the motion was carried. WATER TO RESIDENTS IN 0RON0 VILLAGE Houses on Beverly Avenue Pierce moved that water be furnished to the houses on Beverly Avenue in 0rono Village at no cost or obligation to the Village. VILLAGE OF MOUND 1585 ADVERTISE BIDS ON Lot 6 Aud Sub 170 Pierce moved that the Village advertise for bids on Lot 6 Auditors Subdivision #170, the present structure to be completely razed. Bids to be opened August 22. Litts seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
