Present were Mayor Behmler, Trustees Livingston and Litts, Attorney Bonham and Manager Leikvold. BIDS Lot 6 Aud Sub 170 The bids received on Lot 6 Auditor,s Subdivision #170 which were opened August 22nd were again considered. Litts moved and Livingston seconded the motion that the bids be rejected. The motion carried. on motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting ad- Journed. Behmler, Trustees Pierce, Livingston, Wenkstern and Litts, Attorney Bonham and Manager Leikvold. Minutes of regular meeting of August 22 were read. Pierce moved, Wenkstern seconded, and it was unanimously carried to approve the minutes as read. Minutes of adjourned regular meeting of August 29 were read. The Council wishes to make it a matter of record that the bid mentioned in these minutes was rejected on the Attorney's recommendation. With this addition, Livingston moved, Litts seconded, and it was unanimously carried to approve the minutes. Livingston 'moved, Pierce seconded, and it was unanimously passed to pay the following bills where funds are available. Pierce wanted Piche's Invoice 696'2 checked. TRANSFERS Street Improvement Fund Litts moved, Livingston seconded and it was unanimously carried to transfer $627.32 from the Street Improvement Bonds to the General Fund to repay bills previously paid by the General Fund, and to transfer $1,200 from the General Fund to the Street Improvement Fund, this being the amount budgeted, so that this transfer will be $572.68 from the General Fund to the Street Improvement Fund. ' ~e Co~cil ~ese~es the to ~ject any o~ all bi~, Villa¢e ' V~a~e (9-8-55) i59 VILLAGE OF MOUND GRANT AVE. & YALE A'v~NUE Curb & Gutter Assessment Livingston offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: WHEREAS a contract has been let for the improvement of Grant Avenue and Yale Avenue South of Highway #1~, all in the Village of Mound, and the contract price for such improvement is $8,872.20 and the expenses incurred for the making of said improvement amount to $1,113.2h so that the total cost of the improve- ment will be $9,98~. 82 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of Mound~ Minnesota 1. The cost of such improvement to be specially assessed is hereby declared to be $9,98~.8~. 0 The Village Manager, with the assistance of Pfeifer & Shultz, Consulting Engineers, sha21 forthwith calculate the proper amount to be specially assessed for such improvement against every assessable lot, piece or parcel of land within the district affected, without regard to cash valuation, as provided by law, and he shall file a copy of such proposed assessment in his office for public inspection. The Village Mauager shall upon the completion of such proposed assessment notify the Council thereof. Trustee Litts seconded the motion and the roll being called the vote was: Livingston Aye Litts Aye Pierce Aye Wenkstern Aye Behmler Aye and so the motion was carried. GRANT AVE. & YATE AVEh~E Curb & Gutter Assessment Hearing Wenkstern offered the following re~olution and moved its adoption: WHEREAS by a resolution passed by the Council on September 12, 195~, the Village Manager was directed to prepare a proposed assessment of the cost of improving Grant Avenue and Yale Avenue South of Highway#1~ by the installation of curb and gutter, and NOTICE OF HEARING ON PROPOSED ASSESSMENT To Whom It May Concern: .Notice is hereby given that the Village Council of Mound, Min- nesota will meet in the Council Chambers at the Village of Mound on October 3, 1955 at 8:00 p. m. thereof to pass upon the proposed assessment for the im- provement of Grant Avenue and Yale Avenue South of Highway 15, all in the Village of Mound. The area proposed to be asses- sed is the property abutting on the aforementioned streets. The proposed assessment is on file for public inspection at my office. Written or oral objection will be considered at the hearing. The total estimated cost of the improvement is $10,000. Carste~. D. The Village Manager is hereby directed to cause a notice of the hearing on the proposed assessment to be published once or more in the official newspaper at least two weeks prior to the hearing and he shall state in the notice the total cost of the improve- ment. Attest: age Manager the meeting adjourned to reconvene MINUTES OF ADJOURNED KEGULAR MEETING, September l~, 19~5 Meeting was called to order in the Village Office by Mayor Behmler. Present were Mayor Behmler, TrusteesPierce, Wenkstern, Livingston and Litts, and Manager Leikvold. BUDGET Poor Fund The 1956 Budget was discussed. Litts moved, Livingston seconded and it was unanimously carried that no levy be made for the Poor Fund this year. PARK FUND Livingston moved that a Park Fund be set up separate and distinct from all other Funds. Pierce seconded and it was carried unanimously. TRANSFER Bond &Int to Livingston offered the following resolution and moved its Liquor j_598 VILLAGE OF MOUND adoption: WHEREAS there is a balance in the Bond & Interest Fund under Certificates of Indebtedness of $939. 86 ,and ~HEREAS the Certificates of Indebtedness are paid in full, and WHEREAS in January of 195~ the Liquor Fund advanced to Bond & Interest Fund $1,060.00, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESGLVED that the Manager be directed to transfer $?39.86 from the Bond and Interest Fund to the L~quor Fund. The motion was seconded by Litts and carried unauimously. TRANSFER Liquor Fund to Fire Hall Fund Livingston moved, Litts seconded, and it was carried unanimously that $500.00 be transferred from the Liquor Fund to the Fire Hall Fund. TRANSFER Liquor Fund to Bond & Interest Fund Litts moved that $1,000.00 be trausferred from the Liquor Fund to the Bond and Interest Fund for Project #14. With a second by Wenkstern the motion was carried unanimously. On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned to re- convene on September 26th.
