1_604 VILLAGE OF MOUND MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING, October 10, 1955 Meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. in the Village Office. Present were Mayor Behmler, Trustees Litts, Wenkstern, Livingston and Pierce, Manager Leikvold and Attorney Bonham. Minutes of regular meeting of September 12 were read. Litts moved, Liv~gston seconded, and it was unanimously carried to approve the minutes as read. Minutes of adjourned regular meeting of September 19 were read. Livingston moved, Wenkstern seconded, and it was unanimously carried to approve the minutes as read. Minutes of adjourned regular meeting of September 26 were read. Wenkstern moved, Litts seconded, and it was unanimously carried to approve them inures as read. Minutes of adjourned regular meeting of OCtober 3 were read. Livingston moved, Wenkstern seconded, and it was una~mouslycarried to approve the minutes as read. The Council asked the Manager to check with Fire Underwriters to see if there was any alternative code a smaller village with a volunteer fire department could adopt. The Council also wished a check to see if it could be amended to provide for a Board of Appeal. OUTSIDE FIRE CALLS Wenkstern moved, Litts seconded and it was unanimously carriedthat the o Manager and Attorney be instructed to write an ordinance for council approval on outside fire calls. LAKE TAXI Pierce moved and Litts seconded that Laurence Gerold of the Lake Taxi be asked to furnish a schedule of rates. The motion carried by 4 to 1, Wenkstern dissenting. i606 VILLAGE Of MOUND PARK DISTRICT Litts offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: BE IT RESOLVED That the Manager notify the County Commissioners of Hennepin County, forthwith, that in the opinion of this council no action should be taken under authority of Chapter 806, Laws of Minnesota, !955, toward the activation of a Park District, but that if any action is re- quired that the matter be submitted to the electors for determination of the proposition by referendum. Livingston seconded the resolution and on a roll call the vote was as follows: Litt s Aye Livingston Aye Pierce Aye Wenkstern Aye Behmler Aye and so the resolution was passed~ The Council appointed Livingston to the com~ittee being formed to study the problem. UNION The Union representatives were present and talked to the Council. "ON" SALE LIQUOR Wenkstern withdrew his motion of October 3 relative to the closing of the liquor "On Sale" store. Livingston withdrew his second. Wenkstern moved that the question of the "On Sale" liquor store be placed on the ballot at the regular village election in December, the question on the ballot to be: "Shall the Village of Mound continue the operation of its '~On Sale' liquor establishment?"
