1955-12-19 MINUTES OF ADJOUPdIED REGULAR MEETING, December 19, 1955
Meeting called to order in the Village Office at 8:00 P.M. Present were
Mayor Behmler, Trustees Lifts, Wenkstern and Pierce, and Manager Leikvold.
PARKING LOT
Legus &Krause
Pierce moved that the request of Jack Legus and Joe Krause to build a
parking lot in front of their store be granted. Litts seconded the motion,
and it was carried unanimously.
TELEPHONE
Pierce moved that the Cmmcil invite the Watertown Telephone Company
officials to the ne~t meeting to discuss Mound telephone service. Litts
seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
HighWAY #7
Litts offered the following resolution and moved its adoption:
WHEP~AS, on or about March 8, 195~ the Board of County Commissioners of
Hennepin County duly resolved to return 139.6 miles of tertiary or land use
roads to local govermment subdivisions, effective January 1, 1956, and,
WHEREAS, included therein is the following: "County road #7, lying between
County Road #15 and Trunk Highway #110 - 1.2 miles" and located within the
Village of Mound, and,
WHEP~S , the Council of the Village of Mound is of the opinion that the
designated road is neither a land use road nor a tertiary road but that it is a
secondary road in that it carries traffic between communities that is above
and beyond the responsibility of the Village of Mound, and a count of such
traffic will substantiate this opinion, and
WHEP~S~ the Council of the Village of Mound is of the opinion and has been
so advised by counsel that return of said road to the Village of Mound cannot
be accomplished withoutthe concurrence of the Council of the Village of Mound,
NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1. The Council of the Village of Mound does not concur with the action of
the Board of County Commissioners of Hennepin County in the action of
March 8, 19~ attempting to return "County road #7, lying bet~en County
road #1~ and Trunk Highway #110 - 1.2 miles" to the Village of Mound;
2. The Council of the Village of Mound urges that said road be added to
some 223 miles of road within the County to be established as secondary
roads and that it be administered and maintained as such by the County of
Hennepin from and after January 1, 1956;

3. A certified copy of this resolution be transmitted forthwith to the
following:
a. The Board of County Commissioners of Hennepin County;
b. The County Auditor of Hennepin County;
c. The State of Minnesota Department of High~mys.
Wenkstern seconded the mdtion, and the roll being called, the following
voted in favor thereof:

and the following voted against ~the same:
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted'.
LIQUOR STORE AUDIT
Wenkstern moved that P~bert Kratt be engaged to audit the liquor store.
The motion lost for want of a second.
Litts moved that the Council engage the firm of Peat, Ma~ck and
Mitchell for a fee of $325 plus necessary travel expense. The motion lost
for want of a second.
Pierce moved that the Council engage Mr. ~ooley to audit the liquor
store books. The m chion lost for want of a second.
Wenkstern moved that the Village engage Robert A. Kratt to audit the
liquor store books for a fee of $300.00. Litts seconded the motion and it
teas carried unanimously.
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned.
