Meeting called to order in the Fire Station at 8:00 P.M. Present were Mayor
Behmler, Trustees Livingston, Adams, Lockhart and Brazman and Manager Boxe~l.
Minutes of the regular meeting of December 3, 1956 were read. Livingston
moved,-Adams seconded and it was unanimously carried to approve the minutes as
read.
Minutes of the Canvassing Board Meeting of December 5, 1956 were read.
AdamSm0ved, Lockhart seconded and it was unanimously carried to approve the
minutes as read.
Minutes of Adjourned P~gular Meeting of December 5, 1956 were read.

Minutes of Adjourned Regular Meeting of December 20, 1956 were read.
Livingston moved, Adams seconded, and it was unanimously carried to approve
the ~inutes as read.
SE~ER SYSTF~
Harry Olsen appeared before the Council as spokesman in regard to a sewer
system. He asked that the Council take action at once as there is such a great
need for it. Lack of such a system holds back progress in the village and is
a health menace.
ST?JEET NAMING & STPJ~ET SIGNS
Mr. Robert O'Donnelt appeared before the Council in behalf of the post office
department in regard to street signs and street naming for postal delivery. The
Council stated it has set up $2,500 in the 1957 Budget for this project and that
it is up to the Village Manager to get the project started.
VACATING OF ALLEY
Hearing was held on the vacating of the alley
or street abutting the following described property:
Lots one, two, three, four, five and twelve,
Block one, Rearrangement of Block Ten, Abraham
Lincoln Addition to Lakeside Park. Lockhart moved,
Livingston seconded, and it was una~imm~sly carried
to table the matter for further study. All sur-
romading property o,maers are to be r~otified by
postcard of date action is to be taken on the
vacating.
BEER LICENSE
Casino - Hayes Dalton, owner
Hearing was held on the application of Hayes
Dalton, doing business as Mound Casino 'Cafe, for
licenses to sell "On Sale" and "Off Sale" non-

7. Pat Guy expressed his opinion in favor of granting a license. He
stated the Casino was catering to adult trade and not juvenile. He knew
that adult trade was necessary as ~en he operated the Casino and catered
to juvenile trade he lost money.
8. C. G. Bell expressed his feelings as being in favor of granting
a license.
9. Hayes Dalton explained he had made much improvements at great cost
since taking over the management of Casino. He felt he needed beer to
build up his food business. He stated that beer would only be sold on the
second floor and then only at tables.
Brazman moved, Adams seconded, and it was unanimously carried to table
the granting of a license until further study.
TRANSFER
Brazman moved, Adams seconded, and it.was unanimously carried to transfer
the sum of $3,500 from the Liquor Fund to the General Fund.
BILLS
Adams moved, Brazman seconded, and it was unanimously carried to pay the
following bills where funds are available with the exception of the bill of
B. F. Winkel for the s~m of $16.50 which is to be held until receipt of a
legal opinion on its payment:

UNION WAGE
Lockhart moved, Brazman seconded, and it was carried that Frank Living-
ston represent the Council on the Union Fact-Finding Committee. Livingston
not voting. UNION HEALTH &
WELFARE PLAN
Adams moved, Brazman seconded and it' was unanimously carried to allot
the sum of $750 for Helath and Welfare plan for village employees.
PATROLMEN UNIFORMS
Brazman moved, Livingston seconded, and it was unanimously carried to
furnish two shir~s, two ties and one cap per year for each patrolman.
RETIREMENT OF VILIAGE ~PLOYEES
Behmler moved, Lockhart seconded, and it was unanimously carried that
employees are to retire on becoming 65 years of age, special cases to be
considered by the council.
On motion by Adams, seconded by Livingston, it was unanimously carried
to adjourn to reconvene January 22, 1957 at 8:00 P.M. in the Fire Station.
