1957-03-20VILLAGE OF MOUND P.I.R. SINKING FUND BONDS Adams presented the following resolution and moved its adoption: BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Mound, Minnesota to recall $20,000 of the outstanding P.I.R. Sinking Fund Bonds for the years 1957, 1958, 1959 and 1960 due on October 1 of each year, as of April 1, 1957. Livingston seconded, and on roll call the vote was as follows: Behmler Yea Adams Yea Lockhart Yea Livingston Yea and so the resolution was passed. VILLAGE MANAGER Adams moved, Lockhart seconded, and it was unanimously carried to rehire Manager Boxell for 1957 at a salary of $5,500 a year, retroactive to January l, 1957. PLANNING COMMISSION Leighton Lindlan appeared as a representative of the Mound Chamber of Com- merce in regard to a planning commission. Lockhart moved, Adams seconded, and it was unanimously carried to ask the Mound Chamber of Commerce committee to submit a sample ordinance to the council setting up a planning commission, a sample plan for organization of the com- mission itself, and also to check on the legality of a planning commission under Plan B of government. Adams moved, Lockhart seconded, and it was unanimously carried to adjourn to a meeting March 20, 1957 for the purpose of financing of fire truck and dis- cussion on problems of the Fire Department. v - Vill~e Manager MINUTES OF ADJOUHNED HEGULARMEETING, March 20, 1957 Meeting called to order in the Fire Station at 8:00 P.M. Present were Mayor Behmler, Trustees Livingston, Lockhart, Brazman and Adams, and Manager Boxell. OUTSIDE FIRE PROTECTION Rrazman moved, Lockhart seconded, and it was unanimously carried to in- struct the Manager to contact the township board of Minnetrista Township by 1730 VILLAGE OF MOUND letter in regard to fire protection and inviting them to meet with the Mound Village Council at a date to be set for this meeting. Brazman moved, Lockhart seconded, and it was unanimously carried to in- struct the Manager to contact Orono Village by letter in regard to fire pro- tection and invite them to meet with the Mound Village Council at a date to be set. Adams moved, Livingston seconded, and it was unanimously carried to negotiate a new contract with Spring Park for fire coverage at $400 for the year, also adding into the contract a clause stating that the Village of Spring Park will guarantee the $60.00 an hour charge for service to individual properby owners. FINANCING OF FI?J~ TNJCK Brazman moved, Livingston seconded, and it was unanimously carried to have the Manager investigate the legality of borrowing funds to pay for the fire truck out of the Water Department Funds. CLEAN-UP WEEK Brazman moved, Livingston seconded, and it was unanimously carried to have the Me, or declare April 29 to May 4 as "Paint-up - Clean-up Week." FIRE TRNCK FINANCING The following resolution was offered by Brazman and seconded by LoCkhart: Declaration of surplus in the Water Fund in the sum of $12,175.OO. On roll call the vote was as follows: Brazman Yea Lockhart Yea Adams Yea Livingston Yea Behmler Yea and so the resolution was passed.
