Mound Fire Station.
Present were: Mayor Behmler, Trusteesl Brazman, Larson, Batdorf and
Pet e rson.
FIRE HOSE
BIDS
Fire Chief, Lloyd Bowers expl_=~ned the different experience in the
use of various types of hoses and stated preference for the hose of
~nnesota Fire Equipment Company because of flexibility after use
and freedom from mildew.
LLOYD BOWERS Chief Bowers ~eStified that in his experience the wax and gum of
certain brands of hose was insufficient to exclude moisture from the
weave and the wax and gum treating fails to wear well and permits
moisture to enter the weave.
MR A representative of Hewitt Rubber company was allowed to speak and
was questioned by the Council. He stated h~a~p~ared?at the special
meeting and presented his samples at such me,ting.
FIRE HOSE
BID ACCEPTED
Resolutiom offered by Brazman and seconded by Larson.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the bid of Minnesota Fire Equipment Company be
accepted for 800 feet more or less of. 2~ Fire Hose and 400 feet more
or less of 1½" Fire Hose. 2~ at $1.62 and 1~ at 1.1? per foot.
Be it further resolved that the total purchase not to exceed the
sum of $2,600.00.

The Council instructed the Manager to notify all bidders of the action
taken°
Mr. Roger Wheeler of Pfeifer and Schultz was interviewed by the
Council.
Mayor Behmler instructed Attorney Ploetz to meet with Mr. Wheeler
to ~ork ou~ a mutually acceptable agreement between the Village of
Mound and the firm of Pfeifer add Schultz and report back to the
council.
Open Sewer Ditch along Dell Ave. froze and backup into Parker
property and threatened the road.
Larson moved that the Village Manager be instructed to take steps
to remove the hazard creabed by the sewage and waste flow at Dell
Street; that in doing so he exercise his best discretion guided by
the following; primAri-ly removing the hazard before damage occurs
and secondarily taking such steps to assure contibution or reimburse-
ment as available.
Brazm~ seconded the motion. The vote was unanimously in favor.

Tax Ctarifieation by the Village ~anager~ Mayor instructed the
Manager to give a 'progress report at thelmeeting; also to contact
the Village Attorney if the abatement has not come thru by the 2Oth
day of February, 1959.

CLARIFICATION
The proposed Telephone Rate Increase and the current Hearings of
the Railroad and Warehouse Commission were discussed.
Larson moved and Brazman seconded a motion to instruct Village
Attorney Ploetz to attend the Railroad and Warehouse Commission
Hearing and investigate preliminary facts as required; if facts
indicate need, request further consideration prior to date of
hearing and report extent of satisfactiom with their rates;
maximim of two days, per diem $62.50.
The vote was unanimously in favor, so carried.

Resolution offered by Batdorf and seconded by Larson.
WHEREAS, be it resolved the collateral put up by the State Bank of
Mound for the Village Funds in the sum of $100,000.00 of U. S.
Treasurery Bonds was inspected by the Mayor and the Village Treasurer,
January 27, 1959 and found to be as stated.
Therefore be it resolved that the Village Council of the Village of
Mound approve the above stated collateral for the Village of Mound
Funds for the year, 1959.

Resolution offered by Brazman and seconded by Larson.
Be it resolved that the Village Manager be instructed to issue direct
relief out of the Village Poor and Welfare Fund to M~. H. J. Rieck in
the following amounts:
$30.00 per week for food for a period of not to exceed three weeks.
$20.0~ for'.fuel for this three '~ek period.

Trustee Peterson was appointed delegate to t!-~e League of Lake
Minnetonka Municipalities, Mayor Behmler is the alternate.
CODIFICATION
OF ORDINANCES
Attorney Ploetz read the Ordinance on the Naming of Streets and the
Council di~cusse~d it, with him. The Manager was instructed to
investigate the name Jack's Lane~
The Ordinance concerning Equipment,.. Driving and Parking Regulations
of Vehicles, Bicycles, etc. from Ordinances 12, 37, 45 and 19 were
read and discussed.

to the Council

Mound Fire Station
Present were: Mayor Behmler$ Trustees Peterson, Larson, Brazman and
Batdorf; Village Attorney Ploetz and Manager Boxell.
The American Legion presented a petition requesting for considera-
tion;%S the granting of a Club Liquor license at the present Mound
Casino location.
The petition was tabled for further study,
