Cod~ fication of Ordinances was discussed. Larson moved the Village Manager be authorized to attend the Institute for City Managers at t he University of Minnesota Center for Continuation Study - March 2~, 25, 1959. For reimbursement of expenditures an item- ized statement shall be submitted. Batdorf seconded the motion. carried. The vote was unanimously in favor. So Batdorf moved the meeting be adjourned to the adjourned meeting of March 2~, 1959 at the Mound Fire Station at 7:30 P.M. Petersen secouded the motion. The vote was unanimously in favor. Present were: Mayor Behmler, Trustees Batdorf, Brazman, and Petersen, Attorney Ploetm and Manager Boxell. The proposed Apartment Building in Shirley Hills Unit F, was discussed by Mr. Leighton Ltndlan~and Mr. Darwin Dickey with the ViLlage Attorney and ViLlage Council. Batdorf moved and Brazman seconded the motion~ Be it moved that a date be set for a P~blic Hearing for the consideration of the council of the Amendment of Ordinance No. 46 to correct the errors of that pretended amendment date 6~956 effective December 3, 1946 and to rezone Lots 18 thr~ 23 inclusive, Block 3, Shirley Hills Unit F., from residential to multiple dwelling. VILLAGE OF' MOUND The vote was unanimously in favor. So ca~led. The Fire Alarm System under Dial Telephone System was discussed. The FIRE Village Council referred the proposed system to ~the Fire Department for ALA~ their opinion. Condemned Buildings were discussed. No action. CONDemNED BUI LDIN GS Union Wage Discussion Batdorf moved the Village Council of the Village of Mound appoin% Mayor Edward J. Behmler as its representative on the adjustment panel in the labor dispute, to confer with Village Attorney, the Council to sustain charges thereof and to reimburse said delegate for his expenses. Petersen seconded the motion. The vote was unanimously in favor. So carried and appointed. UNION WAGE ADJUST- MENT PANEL PROGHESS REpO~gTS: ~ ? - Progress reports discussed were: Bronson Property, Safety and Traffic Control, Annexation Committee, Liquor Store Committee, 1959 Assessing Plans, Gotham Carlson situation, Adaptions to State Audit, League Report, Highway #12 and Perpetual Care for the Cemetery. PROGP~SS REPORTS Water SYstem Maps Brazman moved that $100 more or less be designated from~ the Water Fund to prepare maps for the water system. Petersen seconded the motion. The vote was unanimously in favor. So carried. WATER SYBT~2~ MAPS Voter Registration and Election Dates were Discussed. Brazman moved the Village Council instrnct the Village Attorney to draw up an ordinance to cover voter registration. Petersen seconded the motion. The vote was unanimously in favor. So carried. VOTER REGISTRA- TION Campus Crusade Rezoning The Village Attorney suggested a letter be sent to the Campus Crusade warning them they should finish their action or be advised ~he Mound CAMPUS C ~JSADE VILLAGE OF MOUND Village Council may have to operate aEainst them. Section 412.191 the Mayor has called a special meeting of the Village Council to be held in the Fire ~ Station~ Wednesday~ April 1, 1959 at ?~30 P.M., to hear a petition in regard to annexation of property in Fd~nitrista to,ship, known as Three Points areao Xathryn Mensendike, Clerk RESOLUTION OF VILLAGE COUNCIL CALLING ELECTION ON QUESTION OF ANNEXATION AND DESIGNATING ELECTION JUDGES WHEHEAS, a cert~n~ petition dated Maroh 31~ 1959, requesting that am election be held on the question of annexing certain territory described therein to the Village of Mound, Minnesota, be submitted to voters residt~ within the territory described in the p~tition, was duly filed ~ith the village clerk on April 1, 1959; and WHEP~AS, said petition is in proper form and it appears therefrom that the same was signed by more than five legal voters of the area there in described pursuant to M.S.A. 412.041, Subd. 5, and that the censUS taken by said signers shows a resident population of the said area of 796 persons; ~ and it appearing that said annexation would be in the best interests of thee village and the territory proposed: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Mound, Minnesota: 1. An election is hereby called and directed to be held on the 21 day of April, 1959, at Ward's Store, Minnestrista Township, at which election all qualified voters residing ~tthin the territory described in said petition may vote upon the following question: For or against the annexation of said territory to the Village of Mound, Minnesota 2. The polls, at said election shall be open from 7 o'clock A.M.. until 8 o'clock P~M. of said day. 3. Elroy Steffen, Mrs. R. E. Johnson and Mr. John Mueller, and, as an alternate, Mr. Tom Haglund, all residing in said territory, are hereby appointed to be judges at said election, and they shall conduct the same so far as practicable in accordance with the laws re~,l~ting the election ~f to~n officers. RESOLVED, FURTHER, That the Village Manager cause notice of said election to be posted in three places within the said area at least ten days before the date of said election.
