Petersen '2017 1959 WHEKEAS, the Village Treasurer, the Mayor and the Public Examiner's agent inspected the collateral put up by the State Bank of Mound in the sum of , $100~, 000.00 in U. S. Treasury Bonds, on September 15, 1959 and found them to be as stated. AND WHEREAS, the State Bank of Mound has presented to the Village an Assign- ment of Securities, pledging th ese and the $10,000.00 F. D. I. C. Insurance as collateral to the Village Funds. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Village Council of the Village of Mound approve the aforesaid collateral and the assignment thereof for the Village of Mound funds. BE IT MOVED, the Northern States Power Company be authorized to install a light on Walnut Lane (in the Dutch Lake area) by the Andrew Warhol home; and also a suitable barrier be erected at the end of Walnut Lane. The vote was unanimously in favor. So carried. RESOLUTION 'FOR HEARING ON PROPOSED ASSESSMENT FOR STREET LIGHT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NUMBER 17 - 1959 WHEREAS, by resolution passed by the council on October I0, 1959 the Village Clerk was dii'ected to prepare a proposed assessment of the cost of installa- tion of street lighting project number 17-1959 improving Highway Number 15 West from the intersection of Maple Street and Highway Number 15 to the intersection of Highway Number 15 and Highway Number 110 and both sides of Highway Number 110 commencing approximately at a point on the North boundary o~Lot 12, Auditor's Subdivison Number 170 and on the East side of Highway 110, and the NOTth bqundary of Lot 10, Auditor's Subdivision Number 167, on the West side of Highway 110; running North from these points to the intersection of Todd Avenue and Highway Number 110. 2018 VILLAGE OF MOUND Page 5- Oct. 13, 1959 AND NOW WHEREAS, the clerk has notified the council that such proposed assessment has been completed and filed in his office for public inspection; THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Village Council of the Village of Mound, Minnesota: 1. A hearing shall be held on the 10th day of November, 1959 in the Village Fire Hall at 8:00 P.M. to pass upon such proposed assessment and at such time and place ali persons owning property affected by such improvemen,t will be given an opportunity to be heard with reference to such assessment. 2. The Village Clerk is hereby directed to cause a notice of the hearing on the proposed assessment to be published once in the official newspaper at least two weeks prior to the hearing, and shall state in the notice the total cost of the improvement. Village Clerk PETITION BY RESIDENTS OF THE SETON AREA A petition from the residents of the Seton area - north of railroad and bordering on the channel, neighbors of Bablers Boat Docks and Kelley's Tavern. 1. Request that a beer license be denied in the future to the present owner, or to any future tavern in the Seton section of Mound, 2. Further request that lots #19 through #27 Subdivision of Lot 1 - 32 Skarp and Lindquist Ravenswood, be rezoned from commercial to residential. Brazman moved and Petersen seconded a motion. BE IT MOVED, the matter of the Seton area residents petition be tabled to check on. authority of the Village Council to grant the relief requested. The vote was unanimously in favor. So carried. WATER INSTALLATION - DIGGING Mrs, Andy Krause and Gene Hodge appeared before the council to discuss the cost of digging for water installation. The Mayor directed the Village Manager to investigate. BUILDING PERMIT - TONKA TOYS A Motion Lending Council Approval to a Building Permit Application. Brazman moved and Gulden seconded a motion. WHEREAS, 'Tonka Toys has made application for a building permit to install an additional Bullet Type building for warehouse and manufacturing facilities, WHEREAS, Tonka Toys represents that a sprinkler system will be installed thru out, and WHEREAS, Tonka Toys re~resents that they still retain their plans to veneer said building and landscape to present an attractive approach in the near future. NOW THEREFORE BE IT MOVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Mound that the council lend its approval to said building permit application. The vote was taken, Trustee Batdorf abstaining, Trustees Brazman, Gulden and Petersen and Mayor Larson voted in favor. So carried. The sewer problem was discussed. It was suggested the Pheifer and Schultz con- tract be reviewed at the October Z0, 1959 council meeting. SE WAGE Trustee Petersen was appointed as a committee of one to talk to the Mayor of Spring Park about the sewage problem, by Mayor Larson. Batdorf moved and Brazman seconded a motion the meeting be adjourned until the adjourned meeting of October Z0, 1959 at 7:30 P.M. at the Mound Fire Station. The vote was unanimously in favor. VILLAGE E LIE C TION The Village Manager reported the date for closing of election filing was November 24, 1959, for December 8, 1959 election. Two precincts, one in Mound at the Fire Station and the other in the Three Point area. CIENS~JS- 1960 The Village Manager reported the Federal Census will conmence on April 1, 1960; and the village will be able to include any annexted areas by sending a plat map of such area to the census bureau.
