1959-12-15VILLAGE OF MOUND 20 5 MINUTES OF DECEMBER 15, 1959 - ADJOURNED VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING- 8:00 P.M. - MOUND FIRE STATION. Present: Mayor Larson, Trustees Batdorf, Petersen, Gulden; Attorney Ploetz and Manager Boxell. CAMPUS CRUSADE FOR CHRIST PUBLIC HEAi~ING Counsel for Campus Crusade was Bert Nygaard. Counsel for gr~)'up opposing the rezoning was Herbert Wolner of Wolner and maglund. 'Cliff Her~ry.of AAA Scavanger Company was called by Mr. Nygaard to testify about the sewage installtion at the Campus Crusade grounds, and Mr. Ray Netherly answered questions and testified about the plans, scope, finances and general goals of the organization. Mr. Wolner presented his arguemnts in opposition to the petition to rezone this property to Multiple Dwelling. He questioned Ray Netherly and Cliff Henry as to their previous statementsaa-ud further questioned Mr. Netherly about the organization. He citied his reasons for declaring the petition invalid, as not being proper in form, acknowledgement not complete in form or substance, has not been filed with the clerk and no determination as to whether or not it has been signed by 50% of owners. Speaking for the petitioners were: Ed,Hodge, Mrs. Walter Madsen, Bruce Robinson, Loraine Mueller, Harold Bronson, Morris Krake, Mrs. E. C. Uner and Mrs. K. E. Hodge. '.Speaking in opposition to the petition to rezone ~ere: Louise Huestis Stevens, Nate Gellman, Vince Larson, Harry E. Olson and Jeanette Gellman. The Mayor by executive order continued the hearing until December 29, 1959 8:00 P.M. at the Mound Fire Station. PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 46 Attorney Ploetz read and discussed proposed Ordinance with Council. Copy of which is attached. 2046 VILLAGE OF MOUND Petersen ::offered the following resolution and moved its adoption. Batdorf seconded the motion. BE IT RESOLVED, the proposed Amendment to Ordinance No. 46 be accepted. Roll Call vote: Batdorf Aye Petersen Aye Gulden Aye Larson Aye So carried and resolved. DAMAGE CLAIM Richard Morrison filed a suit for damages against the village for damages sustained on a light standard under construction by McHasco Electric, Inc. The Mayor instructed the manager to write to the attorney for Mr. Morrison and tell him the council has not taken action and refer him to McHasco Electric Inc. and MeHasco Electric, Inc. insurance company. EASEMENTS Easements or quit claim deeds between Dr. Borg's and Finley's buildings to the Krause property ~for th'e erectibn of light poles was discussed. EMERGENCY REPALKS ON YALE AVE. PUMP AND WELL Emergency repairs for the pump and well on Yale Avenue were itiscussed. POST OFFICE SITE A possible site for a new Post Office in Mound was discussed. The Manager was instructed to have data on area near the tin shed by the adjourned meeting of December 22, 1959. TEEN AGE PROBLEM The problem of teen-agers in the Lacney Cafe and Bus Depot was discussed. Petersen moved and tSatdorf seconded a motion to adjourn to the adjourned meeting of December 22, 1959 at the Mound Fire Station at 7:30 P.M. The vote was unanimously in favor. So carried and adjourned.
