MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF FEBRUARY 9, 1960 at
7:30 P.M. at the Mound Fire Station.
Present were: Acting Mayor Batdorf, Trustees Orn and Petersen;
Manager Boxell and Attorney Ploetz.
The minutes of the Regualr meeting of January 12, 1960 were read. Petersen
moved and Orn seconded a motion to accept the minutes of the regttlar meeting
of January 12, 1960 as read. The vote was unanimously in favor. So carried
and accepted.
The minutes of the adjourned meeting of January 19, 1960 were read. Orn
moved and Petersen seconded a motion to accept the minutes of the adjourned
meeting of January 19, 1960 meeting as read. The vote was unanimously in
favor. So carried and accepted.
The minutes of the adjourned meeting of January 26, 1960 were read. Petersen
moved and Orn seconded a motion to accept the minutes of the adjourned meeting
of January 26, 1960 as read. The vote was unanimously in favor. So carried
and accepted
TRANSFER OF FUNDS
Petersen offered the following resolution and moved its adoption.

available. The vote was unanimously in favor. So carried.
EASEMENTS FOR NORTHERN STATES POWER COMPANY POLES
This was tabled until more information was available.
VILLAGE OF MOUND
M/NNETONKA ASSEMBLY OF GOD BUILDING PERMIT
Petersen~moved and Orn seconded a motion.
BE IT MOVED the building inspector be directed to issue a building permit
to the Minnetonka Assembly of God for the garage at Lot 18, Lynvold Park,
only for the application of insul~ion and sheetrock. Provided specifically
said permit not for the installation of ph~nbing or other restoration or
improvement to make said premises suitable for a dwelling.
The vote was unanimously in favor. So carried and directed.
LOST LAKE SITE
The possibility of the Lost Lake site for a post office was discussed.
A luncheon meeting with the Council, the Postmaster and a Post Office
official in charge of buildings and sites was set for Wed. Feb. 24, 1960
at 12 noon at the Del-O Cafe. The attorney and the manager were also
invite d.
PLANNING COMMISSION MEMBER RESIGNATION
Petersen moved and Orn seconded a motion.
BE IT MOVED, the Village Council of the Village of Mound accept the
resignation of Olin Kaupanger from the Mound Planning ~Commission for the
reasons stated therein and in view of the prospects of conflicts arising in the
future. - ~ '
The vote was unanimously in favor. So carried and accepted.
TAX FORFEITED LAND
Petersen offered the following resolution and moved its adoption. Orn seconded

· WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Mound, Hennepin CoUnty,
Minnesota, has received from the County Auditor of Hennepin County,
Minnesota, a list of lands in said village which became the property of the
State of Minnesota under the provisions of law declaring the forfeiture of
lands to the State for non-payment of taxes, which said list has been designated
as Classification List 482 C; Jan. 26, 1960; and ..-

WHEREAS, Each parcel of land described in said list has heretofore been
classified by the Board of County Commissioners of Hennepin County,
Minnesota as non-conservation land and the sale thereof has heretofore
been authorized by said'Board of County Commissioners:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by said Village Council, acting
pursuant to Minnesota Statutes for 1949, Section 282.01, Subd. 1, that
the said classification by said Board of County Commissioners of each
parcel of land described in said list as non-conservation land be and the
same is hereby approved and that the sale of each such parcel of land
be and the same is hereby approved.

GREAT NORTHERN RAILROAD PROPERTY
A letter was received from the Great N rthern Railroad requesting the rail
road property in the village be cleaned up and all wrecked cars be removed.
The matter was discussed.
The Acting Mayor Gordon Batdorf directed Attorney Ploetz to answer the
letter in behalf of the council.
ANNEXATION OF PORTIONS OF MINNESTRISTA
Orn moved and Petersen seconded the motion.
BE IT MOVED, the petition for annexation to Mound of the area generally
known as Halstad Heights, Halstad Park and certain other property anmed
in the petition; be continuted until the regular meeting of March 8, 19.60.
FIRE DEPARTMENT SERVICE BOUNDARIES AND OTHER PROBLEMS
The Village Council of the Village of Mound instructed Trustee Orn to contact
surrounding villages and invite them to a meeting to discuss mutual problems
and fire service boundaries.

ISLAND PARK. ANNEXATION.
Orn moved and Petersen second a motion.
BE IT MOVED, the Village Co~mcil of the %rillage of'Mound, authorize a
Trustee to ask the State Fire Marshall and the State Underwriters Bureau,
ie Mr. Fritag; for suggestions or recommendations on the problem o£ the
two village fir e departments .and_adjusting their ,r e spective inter e sts.
The vote was unanimously in favor.. So carried.
Acting Mayor Batdorf appointed Trustee Pete~,sen to report all such findings
to the local pap'er. ,
Orn moved and Petersen seconded a motion to adjourn until the adjourned
meeting'of February 23, 1960 at 7:30 P.M. at the Mound Fire Station. The
vote was unanimously in favor. So carried and adjourned.
