Present were: Mayor Larson, Trustees Om, Pfeifer, Petersen, Batdorf,
Attorney Ploetz and Manager Boxell.
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 12, 1960 were read. Orn moved
and Batdorf seconded a motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting of
April 12, 1960 as read. The vote was unanimously in favor so carried and
accepted.
The Minutes of the adjourned meeting of April 19, 1960 were read. Petersen
moved and Pfeifer seconded a motion to accept the minutes of the adjourned
meeting of April 19, 1960. The vote was unanimously in favor so carried and
accepted.
The Minutes of the adjourned meeting of April 26, 1960 were read. Orn moved
and Batdorf seconded a motion to accept the minutes of the adjourned meeting of
April 26, 1960 as read. The vote was unanimously in favor, so carried and
accepted.
The Minutes of the adjourned meeting of May 3, 1960 were read. Pfeifer moved
and Petersen seconded the motion that the minutes of the adjourned meeting of
May 3, 1960 be accepted as read. So carried and accepted.
TRANSFER OF FUNDS
Batdorf nffe~ed the following resolution and moved its adoption.

BE IT RESOLVED, the sum of $50.00 be transferred from General Fund to the
Civil Defense Fund as a loan.

ROAD OIL BIDS
Bids were received from Gleason and J. W. Craig companies for Road Oil

GRAVEL BIDS
A call ms given for Gravel Bids from the aduience, none were given; none
were received. Matter tabled

Pfeifer moved and Batdorf seconded the motion.
BE IT MOVED, the Village Manager be instructed to purchase a Verifax, copying
roaching for the sum of $148, the funds to be taken form the General Fund, on the
recommendation of the Village Manager.
The vote was unanimously in favor. So carried.
S;~DUND ROAD PATROL
Batdorf moved and Orn seconded the motion.
BE IT MOVED, the manager be authorized to have the Mound Road Patrol repaired,
at an estimated cost of: Parts 395.00; Steering Booster 275.00;
labor $100. The Manager recommends this repair job, the total not be
exceed the sum of $770.00
The vote was unanimously in favor, so carried.
RENTAL OF VILLAGE PROPERTY
Glenn Hendrickson requested the Village Council of the Village of Mound to rent
him the old filling station building in frOnt of the ISland Park Liquor store. The
request was denied, and the manager was instructed to inform Mr. Hendrickson
of the Council's action.
UNION CONTt~ACT - ,,:on Sale Liquor Employees - Bartenders
Batdorf moved and Orn seconded the motion
BE IT MOVED, the Village Council accept the wage scale asked by the union;
to accept the rest of the contract to be the same as 1959, except to
insert the item, Paydays to be on the 15th and last day of each month.
The vote was unanimously in favor. So carried.
1960 CENSUS
The question of the accuracy of the 1960 Census was presented by the Manager.
It was briefly discussed.
]BUILDING PER.MIT - Jerome F. Miller
Orn Moved and Batdorf seconded the motion.
BE IT MOVED, the Village Council of the Village of Mound grant ~o Jerome F.
Miller a permit to construct a garage on his property allowing a 15 ft.
set-back instead of.the 20 ft.; provided thtat the wall facing the
existing garage be of concrete construction.
The vote was unanimously in favor. So carried.
CONTR.ACT WITH SCHOELL AND M~DSEN
A contract between Schoell and Madsen and the Village of Mound was discussed.
MOUND ASSESSOR.
Petersen moved and Orn seconded a motion.
BE IT MOVED, the appointment of Chellis Engstrom as village assessor for the
Mound, 3 Pts. areas as a senior assessor at a salary of $1,500
ending December 31, 1960, be, hereby are, approved; subject to any
additional help required, except for Arvid Johnson, be hired by the
assessor and be compensated by them at no additonal cost to the
village. ~vid Jonson to recieve the sum of $40.00 per ~y not to
exceed 30 days.
The vote was unanimously in favor. So carried.
Petersen moved and Orn seconded a motion the Village Council adjourned until
the adjourned meeting of May 12, 1960 at the Island Park Hall at 8:00 P. M.

The Hearing was continued until June lb, 1960 at 8:00 P.M. at the Island Park
Hall by executive order of the Mayor.

A1 Quello represented the proponents and W. P. Bradley represented the
oppenents in the matter of Idor E. Lawson applying for a 3.2 On and Off Sale
Beer License for the Kelley Tavern.
Mr. Bradley, Helene Beane, Fred Bethke spoke against the matter.
