Pre~.ent were Mayor Xoehn, Trustees Heikkila, Johnson, Batdorf and Pfeifer, Acting Manager Barbara Heyman, Attorney James Gra±hwol, Assessor Helen Newell, Assessor Emery Anderson and Bob Martin. Assistant Supervisor of Assessments, Hennepin County. The minutes of the meeting of July 8, 1965 were read. Heikkila moved, Pfeifer seconded, and it was unanimously carried to accept the minutes. The meeting recessed for a short council meeting. Edward Lundgren Mr. Lundgren said the assessor's market value of $6,550 was too high. He thought it should be $5,000. It was a cabin, has no basement, and can be used only seasonally. He wondered Why the land value had increased. He thought a fair increase would be to $12,455. When the Council asked him as a dealer in real estate if he thought $16,425 was a fair market value, he replied, "Yes." Robert Walker 57950 5510 Mr. Walker was present and said the market value of $8,175 placed by the assevsor was too high. He admitted it was lakeshore and has two garages. He had no comolaint on the building value, but could not see the increase in land value. No beach. Mud bottom. Three lots with 150 f'eet of water line. Is not improved lake shore. Is not worth $6,000 for the three lots. R. Cloutier 57910 2125 Mr. Cloutier was present and said the market value of $1,521 olaced by the assessor was too nigh. It was acquired in 1929. Has no founda- tion and no improvements. Bnilding is a detriment to the lot. He has been thinking of taking it down and putting up a double garage. Until 1951 it was used for guests, but has since deteriorated and is now being used to store stuff. It was reviewed by the County Assessor a few years ago and abatement was made for the years it was taxed. Violet Borgeson 57950 1550 George Moline representing. He said the assessor's market value of $15,455 was objected to because the house is not as it appears from the outside. It was built by a member of the family 50 years ago and was not finished when he died. It is still pretty much the same. They have felt all along that it should be taken down, so have not made any imorovements on it. What they would like to do would be to take it down and split the lot and make two building sites. 54.
