MINUTES OF THE MOUND COUNCIL MEETING OF MARCH 28, 1972 et 8:00 P.M. at the SHIRLEY HILLS SCHOOL, MOUY~D, MI~_~SOTA The meeting was called to order by John Andreasen, Acting mayor. Roll Call was taken by the clerk - present were: Councilmen £1do Schmidt, Donald Ulrick and Gordon Swenson; Acting mayor John Andreasen; Mayor John Kotula was absent; Curtis Pearson, Attorney and Village Manager Leonard Kopp,. also oresent. SPECIAL USE PERMIT HEARING - Upholsterly Shop (Three Points and Commerce Blvds.) Present were: Richard Evans, applicant and upholsterer and owner Robert S. Braun No one appeared to protest the application. The council outlined the stipulations under which the special use per~it would operate if granted. The Building Insoector stated that the building has been brought up to code, fire extinguishers were installed and the sheet rock was also installed. Mr Evans stated, that he intended to do general uoholstering, auto upholstering, boat unholstering and motor cycle seat upholstering; no gas or oil to be sold at retail. Six units are to be allowed in outside oarking st one time, only two of which may be boats. Swenson moved and Ulrick seconded a motion RESOLT~TION 72-71 RESOLUTION GRANTING SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR UPHOLSTERY SHOP (Plat 61690, Parcel 6210) (With certain stipulations) Passed unanimously FIRE TRUCK BIDS Russ Orn, Mound Fire Chief, recommended the purchase of the Mack Fire Truck American L~France representative, Howard Bac~s spoke of his truck. Mack Trucks Inc. representative, Walter O'Neil spoke of his truck Raymond Tharslson, Captain of the Mound Fire Dept. spoke in favor of the M~ck Truck favored by the fire department. Andreasen moved and Schmidt seconded a motion RE$O~rTION 72-7~ RESO~ITION REJ~C.~I-NG WIRE T~JCK BIDS AND INST~JCTING CLERK TO READVERTISE Passed unanimously · Robert Hubbard, Mayor of Minnetrista arrived and the council oaused to greet him. BINGO PE~ITS for Three Points Playground Association were presented - no action DIIAPiD~TED D~fELLINOS The Inspector requested that action be taken on these dilapidated dwellings. Ulrick moved and Schmidt seconded the motion RESO~TION 72-7~ RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ATTORNEY TO PROCEED ~TH REMOVAL O? DILAPIDATED D]~LLINGS LOT 61, ~IPPLE SHO~S AND LOT 3, BLOCK ~ SHAD~OD POINT Passed unanimously LABOR NEGOTIATOR APPOINTED Schmidt moved and Ulrick seconded the motion RESOLUTION Passed unanimously RESOLUTION APeOINTING VILLAGE MANAGER AS NEGOTIATOR FOR ~LLAGE IN LABOR NEGOTIATIONS FOR 1973 STORM DRAIN PROBLEMS Schmidt moved and Swenson seconded the motion BE IT x~OVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Mound that a committee session be arranged with the Council and the Mound Chamber of Commerce to discuss this orob!em. Passed unanimously MINNETRISTA S~ER PLaN Robert Hubbard~ Mayor of Minnetrista spoke of the Sewer Plans for Minnetrists and outlined how Mound. would be affected. Mayor Hubbard urged the Mound Council to pass a resolution co~enting on their plans; a requirement for a Federal Grant. Ulrick moved and Schmidt seconded a motion to accent the minutes of the March 1!~, 1972 meeting as presented.. Ulrick. Schmidt and Andreasen voted aye, Swenson abso..mned as he was ill and did not attend that meeting. Minutes were acceoted. BILLS The following bills were presented for consideration; olus one to the Mound Fire Deoartment from the Fire Relief Fund for $938.02. Schmi~t moved, and'Swenson seconded a motion to pay the bills wtere funds are available. The vote was unanimously in favor so c2rried.
