1957-05-13 IP Planning Commission Minutes3
May 13, 1957
TO MAYOR AND VILLAGE COUNCILMEN
Gentlemen:
The Planning Commission as requested by the council on April 15 to discuss

e ,
1x
the eond&t on of Tuxedo Road at their meeting May 7p (he conclusion was
that this is a problem needing expert engineering advice -and, t is our
recommendation that it be turned over to the village engineer with the request
that he set realistic goals in line with the road budget of 1957 and that
village employees be measured as to their effectiveness by their accomplish-
ments under a program the engineer might outline.
Other village conditions discussed for which the Planning Commission is not
responsible, but for which we suggest council consideration are:
1. To the general public and to the Planning Commission it is apparent
that the councilrindecisive and in disagreement as evident'by'their
failure to appoint the 5th councilman.
2. At the public meeting April 30th it was clearly evident that
the public expects the council take all possible steps towards a
joint sewage system. We understand Mound is proceeding on their own;
we believe a report to the public is due on what steps have been taken
by the council the last six months.
3. The need for a "Finance Committee° to support the councilpand to
objectively study village expenditures in relation to the budget, is
urgently recommended.
In addition to the above, the Chairman of the Planning Committee requests
that council ascertain the real interest of each member of the Planning
Commission for active participation in village problems *&ad, that members
be appointed who will take an active interest; and that Ordinance 18 be
rescinded in total or be clarified as to the Planning Commissionst duties.
