Mayor~ Fixen & Iver. on reported on their meeting with the ~ounty Ocmuissioner~
this morning regarding the use of County Machinery on road project-. County
will loaz us roller $ heavy Grader. Village to pay operators $ 1105 per hour
on our ~ayroll.

~90~ per yard delivered here from Woodend. Pit be accepted, the village to ~tee
reserve the ~he right to reject Woodend ~_ravel if not up to required
standard, and require gravel to be delivered fru~ Xreatz pit which gravel
is also tcmeet our approval as satisfactory in our opinion at his bid price
of $ 1.30 per cu. yard ~ from said pit ae,~eq~e,~e~ee delivered to the villa~
and ~eposited in 100 foot stations at the rate of 9 cu. yds per stati~u,
And that our attorney Harold N Rogers be directed to draw up the
contracts in accordance with the foregoin~ terms. Motion Carrie~.

torches from T.W. Roshalt & Co asm. ete be delivered to John lverson. Carried.

It shall be the policy of this Village Oouncil, and we stczgly
urge that of succeeding councils, that appointments as ~iremen, fire board
me. here and fire department officers be made-in, the - followin~ m~nne~
Tentative designation of officers a~ well as active firemea members
.... be made by vote of the active fireme~ and ~
association members in good standing at the t~me. Such voting to be done
after ~uffiolent notice to the membership, both active and Association
members, and when a majority of the notice firemen members, i~ good standing
are present at sa~d duly called meeting. Names and offices of said so
designated men be then transmitted to the Village Oouncil for their
approval and official recognition as such selected men. The office of
F~re Cht. e~, however, shall be designated to the council upon the vote of ~
Active .~Firemen Membe_~ in Eood standing n~.
This policy is to re~ain in effect as long as said membership
retainthe interest they now.are and have been showing in this important
bra~oh of Municipal Service. ?he Village Council expects that the mem-
bership through its board and officers will establish its own neccessary
rules~ regulations, schedules of meetin~s, fire drills~ equipment
maintenances, etc., as heretofore, all such rules and regulations and acts to
be in h~rmony with the laws in effect at the time.
The resolution was unanimously adopted.
