~efore a duly convened council that lacked the p~'esenoe of
'£~ustee F. L. Pearson appeared ~rs. Mabel Grosby of ,illow Point
at seton who verbally petitioned that a public road, once for all,
be definitely established and built to offer an exit and entry
to herself and neighbors to and from the main highways and which
would be subject to parkin6 regulations. The matter involved the
desc'riptlon~ithin the context of a Quit-Claim Deed supposed to
have be[eh fu~nlshed the village at the time ora certain sub-
division of nelghborin6 lots and durln6 which the public approach
was to ihave been established. I~ior to Mrs. crosby's appearance
before'the council, Mr. J. H Skarp had been in conference with
t~e Villa6e ~ecorder about the same matter and following which
it was'~ discovered that there was no Quit-ulaim meed on file with
the village, or on record anywhere, that contained a definition
upon which the village could legally act. Mrs. Orosby was assur-
ed that, upon the furnishin6 or finding of a quiZ-claim deed
supplying description of the proper ground, she would promptly
get her road and that the village would take up the matter with
Mr. Skarp.
Mayor Krause next presented a petition undersigned by J. ~.
Johnson, John Stewart, Herman Anderson, Ed Gaforst, L. Bonander,
and ~arl malm asking that the village instruct the Interstate
Power ~o. "to extend their line along the above said County Road
No. 7 to the Southeast Corner of Government Lot ~'our ~4), Section
'~Wenty-three (23), Township One Hundred and Seventeen (117~,
~an6e Awenty-four (24), said described property belon61ng to
J. W. oohnson."
Upon the readin6 of this petition, it was
moved by Glewwe and seconded by Zost t~a% the petition be aecelrte~
and that the Village Recorder be instructed to confer with
~. w. moss, local superln&endant for the Power ~o, with respect
to a meeting to discuss the aetails and requirements of such an
extention. This motion was carried.
· upon a discussion of policing ~equirements on August llth,
next, du~ing the local celeoration of the "2~ers", it was moved
by' ?rustee Gleww$ that ~hief 0I'I'lcer Cole of the Police Dep't be
authorized to purchase eight ~pecial Police badges and that he
be send the written order of the village, xhis m~ien was
supported by Yost and carried.
After the readln6 of odd and sundry correspondence, the
followin6 bills were presented and o~iered paid:
