JANUARY 29, 2002
The City Council of the City of Mound, Hennepin County, Minnesota, met in special
session at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers of said City.
Members Present: Mayor Pat Meisel, Councilmembers Bob Brown, Mark Hanus, David
Osmek and Peter Meyer.
Others Present: City Manager, Kandis Hanson; Finance Director, Gino Businaro; Parks
Director, Jim Fackler; Public Works Superintendent, Greg Skinner; Community
Development Director, Sarah Smith; Fire Chief, Greg Pederson; Pam Myers, Lorde
Ham, Tim Palm, Sid Inman, Jeff Anderson, Scot Alden, Greg Palm, Miles Britz, Nancy
Schultz, Sam Bontrager, Bill Morris.
1. OPEN MEETING
The meeting was celled to order at 6:50 p.m. by Mayor Meisel.
2. COMMUNITY SURVEY RESULTS; DECISION RESOURCES
Bill Morris of Decision Resources presented the results of the phone survey of 400
randomly selected residents of Mound. Discussion followed regarding these survey
results.
3. SPACE NEEDS PROJECT OPTIONS: SHORT, ELLIOTT & HENDRICKSON
Nancy Schultz, Miles Bdtz and Sam Bontgrager of SEH presented the options that the
Facility Space Needs Committee had initiated. The advantages and disadvantages of
each were discussed.
4. FINANCING OPTIONS: EHLERS & ASSOCIATES
Sid Inman of Ehlers & Associates presented the Council with different finance options
that are available for the proposed public facilities. Bringing the issue to the voters in
the form of referendum, as well as lease/purchase were discussed.
5. DISCUSSION
Lengthy discussion followed regarding opinions and suggestions for the public facility
space needs and the financing options. Further discussion regarding the facility options
and the financing options will take place at a later meeting.
6. ADJOURN
MOTION by Brown, seconded by Hanus to adjourn the meeting at 10:55 p.m. All voted
in favor. Motion cerried.
