Engineering · Planning · Surveying October 25, 2002 Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council City of Mound 5341 Maywood Road Mound, Minnesota 55364-1627 SUBJECT: City of Mound West Edge Boulevard Street Improvements Preliminary Assessment Roll MFRA//7827 Dear Mayor and Councilmembers: As requested, we have recalculated the proposed assessments for the seven (7) Mound parcels on West Edge Boulevard using the present policy that was originally adopted in 1976. This policy uses a combination of unit, frontage and area and includes other conditions, such as one-half the unit and area charges for parcels that front on a County Road. Them is also a minimum frontage of 40 feet and a maximum area of 25,000 square feet for residential lots. Attached is a spreadsheet that shows the comparison between the two methods for the seven lots. As mentioned at the hearing on October 22, 2002 if the assessment method is switched back to the present policy, the City cannot charge more then the amount of $4,490.85 proposed at the heating. Three parcels would be capped at that amount and four parcels would be reduced, resulting in the City picking up an additional $1,218.25. We have also included a map that shows the parcels in question. If you have any questions or need additional information on anything in the assessment roll, please contact me.
