There being no unfinished business of previous meetings,
Trustee Yost made the motion to pass the following resolution,
to, wit: In order to insure the ~ffici~t handling and to properly
conserve l~ound Village ?unds, therefore, be it resolved and it
is hereby designated and so fixed, for the knowledge of all those
of interest, that the Etate Bank of Nound be designated as the
0fflcial, Mound, Yil!age~Dep0si~o~y. This motion by resolution was
seconded by Trustee Pearson and carried.
Following the bringing to notice before the council, by the
recorder,,, of..th~, ~ast, month's correspondence, namely, remittances
of money from O. W. johnS°n'and' A. H. Anderson of Beton in the
sums of $34.1u and $29.90, respectively, in full and part payment
of their share of the cost of sidewalk construction at Beton,
communications enabling the Village Treasurer in the securing of
his bond and communications consummating the securing of the bond
of the Village Recorder, ~ayor Krause next called for the reading
of the bills.
Trustee Yost now arose with the motion that the bill of the
Mound Woman:s Club, and other bills in connection with t~e erection
and illumination of the community Ohristmas tree in liound Square
through the period between Ghristmas and l~ew Year, be paid upon
presentation. This motion was seconded by Trustee Glewwe and-carried.
After reading the bill of Robbins Bros. in the amount of
~159.~5 and ~ compensation for pushing the snowplow during
the month of January, 1~, ~ayor Krause suggested that the bill
be accepted as read, subject, however, to the findings of the
Road Oommlttee with reference to a discrepancy between the time
entered by Street Commissioner Stein and that submitted }$ the
bill. ~ayor Erause suggested, further, that the Road Committee
come to some definite understanding with Robbins ~ros. as to a
minimum and maximum charge per hour for snowplow work and making
a maximum charge to also include i~IO~aZa~fha~l$t%ional help,
an aggreement which had previously been reached, but which the
bill did not show was being lived up to.
~ext was read the bil~ totalling ~11.~u, submitted by Dr. J.
P. Wilkins for services rendered to ~r. Charles Allard. This
bill was disapproved on the ground t~at there is nothing on the
village records to show that geither Er. Allard, or family, are
charges of this village. The Village Recorder was, therefore, ~
instructed to return the bill to Dr. Wilkins with a proper explana-
tion of circumstances.
