1929-07-02MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETIN~ .OF T~E MOU~D VI!~;~GE COUNCIL ~ELD ON ~ 2nd, 64' This meetin~ was opened by Mayor-Krause at 8 P. M. in the present~ of the full council_, i. e., Trustees Yost, Glewwe, and Pearson, and Alwin, Village Recorder. The business first presented before the o~unoil - after the readin~ and approval of the minutes of the previous meeting - was the interest of a .delegation ~from the Mound Volunteer Fire Depart- ment in the persons of Chief · F. Erau~e, Bec Weiland, and Loyd ~wers. The object of this representation was to press upon the village council the dar~erou, ely d.i.lagidated condition of the present fire truck and the urgenoy fe~ new and safer equipment. The firelii~' proposed the PUrChase of a 0hevrolet truck chassis of a ton and one- half capacity and offered by Robbins Bros. Chevrolet Co. for $555.15, the same to be equipt with the chemical tanks of the old Job and a e~all running~board pumper of the kind to quench forest fires. To this Trustee Yost countered by an offer to divide the cost of suitab&e equipment between the fire department and the viIIage. After a vo.l!ey of pro,and-eon discussion, it was finally moved by Alwin that the fire department set about to inform itself thoroughly as to needed equipment, upon which it was to report to members of the council to precipitate the calling of a special meeting at which the matter was to be brought to some solution. This motion was seconded by Glewwe and' carried. Mayor Xrause next presented a co~oati~t · eh~itt,.
