PursUant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Mound Village~Oouncil was held, Monday E~ening, September 17,1954. Meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. by President J. O. Erause. Trustees present: Yost, Broeckert, T~ff anal Norton. The President stated meeting was called to c~pen bids for gravel and oil as per notice printed in the Mlnnetonka Pilot, September 6,1934. Bids for gravel were opened and in the opinion of the Council were found to be unsatisfactory. Thereupon Trustee Tuff ma~e a motion to reject all bids for gravel and purchase surfacing material on open market. Motion seconded by Trustee Yost. On Roll Call - Yeas: Tuff, Yost, Norton., Nays: Broeckert. Motion carried. Motion by Horton, Seconded by Broeckert, that two hundred yards more o~ less of gravel 65 - ~5 be purchased from the Minnesota Sand and Gravel Co. at their pit ~for ¥ifty Cents per ton. Motion carried. Motion by Tuff, seconded by Broeckert, that gravel be delivered by H; J.'Euskee and E. Peterson, from the Minnesota Sand and Gravel Co.'s pit at St. Louis Park. Motion carried. Bids for Five Thousand Gallons of road oil were opened. Gaus Oulligan- In car lots (6~50 gals.) F.O.B., MOund Heated and applied at .071S6 as above 8000 gallons at .~66. J. W. Craig OompaDy - approximatelF 5000 gallons road'oil, heated and applied to be delivered as ordered at .07 per gallon. Motion by Broeckert, seconded by Tuff, that road oil be purchased from J. W. PUrsuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting ~ the Mound Village Council was held Friday Evening, September B8, 19~ Members present: President, J. O. Krause, Trustees: Yost, Broeckert, Tuff and Horton. The President announced that the meeting was opened for the consideration of objection to the proposed assessment for Water Works improvement in.the Highlands, on Highland Avenue, Green Blvd. amd 0arm&n Avenue,(as per notice in the Minnetonka Pilot issued September 13 and ~0, 1~34.) approximately Z~00 feet. Also the water works improvement in Shirley Hills, Unit B on Edgewater Drive and Glen A~on Avenue, (as advertised in the Minnetonka Pilot, September l~ and E0, 1954) approximately 1800 feet~ in response to the petitions presented to the Village 0ouncil at their regular meetings in August and September, 1~4. The following owners of property on the Blvd. and Avemue in the Highlands, objecting to the Water Works Improvement were present: Gus Peterson, H. 8andhoff, H. Hoke, H. A. Stuart, Mrs. Johnson, and mr. Gustafson. After some discussion, Motion was ma~e and carried that the ~etition for Water Works ~mprovement in Highlands be tabled. Six~f the twelve signers on the Petition for Water Works Improvement in Shirley Hills, Unit B, were present. There were no objections filed. After discussion, it was the opinion of the Council, action be deferred until the Regular Me~ting of the Council, to be held October 2n 1954.
