1935-01-02 MOUND MINN JA'Y End 19~5 Minutes of the Mound Village Council,regular meeting, Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the regular meeting of the Mound Village 0ouncil, was held in said Village Jan'y 2nd 1955~ at So'clock P.M. O~lcers present, J.C.Krause Presid~nt, Trustees Yost, Tuff & Norton Broeeert absent on account of sickness. The President called the meeting to order, Minutes of thelast regular meetinj were read , and on motion duly made and carried, were approved as read. Minutes of the Special meeting of Dec ~gth 1934 were read , and approved as read. The bills were read, A motion by~ Tuff seconded by yost that bills be paidand clerk instructed to draw watt,ants for same, Motion carried. The retiring President J.C.Krause thanked the Trustees for their excellent cooperation and support during the past years he had been President of the Council and he was sure they would mantain the same Spirit of co-operation to the'incoming President. President Krause then~introduced Dr.W.O.Huestis, the newly elected President, who took the chair and after a few remarks, proceeded to outline a program for the year 1935, mentioning particularly the neccessity of great care in supervising the work of relief and also suggested that the Legal ~tatus of the Interstate Power Companys F~anchise, be investigated, with a view of securing a reduction in rates for the consummers of Mound. THE Bond offGE0.R. Oole,was presented ,signed by R.S.Thompson and F.Yost as sureties and motion by March, seconded by Tuff that Geo.R. Coles Bond be accepted, Motion carried. THE Bond of Kimball Hodge , was read signed by G.A.Tyler and W.O. Huestis as sureties, and on motion by Yost seconded by Tuff tha~ the the Bond of Kimball Hodge b~ accepted, Motion carried. M6tion bY Yost seconded by March, that the ClerkA Bond be renewed' a~ the State Bank of Mound Agency, Motion carried.' Motion by Horton seconded ~y March, that the Treasurers Bond be renewed at the Sta~e Bank of Mound Agency, Motion Carried. Motion by March seconded by Horton that the State Bank of Mound be designated as a depository for the Village Funds for the year 1935, the Bank to furnish a copy of the Membership in the FederalDeposit Insurance Corporation, Motion carried. The Bond of M.J.Smith for'Justice of Peace, signed'by August Broecke~ and ¥.O.Major as sureties, was read and on Motion by Horton seconded by March that the Bond o~ M.J.Smith be accepted, Mbti'on carried. 28~ Jany meeting continued The President appointed a ~ommittee of three consisting, of R.March, F.Yost and Geo Cole, to investigate an oil burner for the Sump House, and asked that the Committee be authorized to purchase and install same at once. Notion by Tuff seconded by Horton, that the Committee purchase and install stove at once, Notion carried. A ~otion by Tuff seconded by Yost,that the President and the Clerk, in vestigate, the kind and price of a sutiable Safe for the protec~ion of the Village Records, and report at the next meeting, Motion Carried. THE President appointed a relief Committee, with Ralz~h March as Chairman, other members of the Committee were F.Yost, Jacob Hohl, Ers Gebo and the President himself. THE President appointed , H.I.Horton and C.L.Tuff on the road and sidewalk Committee. Motion by Yost seconded by },{arch, that the road Committee look after the cleaning and stakin~i out of road in the Highlands for the Water Nain Improvement ~ 3 ~otion carried. A Notion by Yosthseconded by ~rch,That GE0.R.Cole be appointed Superin~ tendent of the Water Works System, tohave charge of the Pump House and Pumping Equipment, read the ~ater meters and look after the flushing of the dead ends of the ?later ,l~ains, and to receive therefore the sum of $18.00 per month payable out of the Water Works Fund, Notion carried- A Notion by Yost seconded by Narch,That H.I.Horton be allowed $10.00 per month for keeping the records of the Water Works System, payable out of the Water Works Fund , also to be allowed $10.00 per month as Village Clerk, Notion carried. THE clerk was instructed to correspond with the Attorney General ~regarding the Electric Light. Franchise ~!,jranted by this village in 1915.
