1935-07-02 MINUTES OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF MOUND 317
REGULAR MEETING HELD JULY ~nd 1955
~ursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the
Village Council of the Village of Mound, Hennepin County, Minnesota,
was duly held in the basement of the State Bank of Mound. in said
Vlllag~on ~he second day of July 1935 at ~$ o'clock P.M..
The minutes of the last regular meeting were read and alee minutes
of Special meeting held June 24~h 1935 , and were adopted as read.
~he following Trustees were present; W.C.Huestis President, Yost,
March, Tu~f & Herren.
A le%ter from the Hennepin. O.ounty Agricultural Society was rea~,
in regard to the Free Fa!r .to be held at Hopkins, Aug Ss-S3-S4-1935
asking for a donation for the support of the Fair, and after due
consideration, a motion by Tuff Seconded b'7 Yost, that the sum of
$25.00 be approlated to the support of the Hennepin County Free Fair,
to be held Aug-2~-~3-~4th 1935 at Hopkins .and the Clerk be instructed
to draw a warrant for same , and send to R.E.Weloh Treas.,at Hopkins,
Motion carried.
The application fo Tony Ma~t[nka for au OEF and On sale licens~
the sale of non-intoxicating malt liquor was read, and after some.
discussion, the President appointed Trustees March & Yost to i. nv~estig~
character and responsibility of Tony Martinka and report at the. next
meeting.
The application of A. Hastinge for an ON SALE license for the sale of
non-intoxicating Malt Liquor was read, and a motion by March seconded
by Tuff that ON SALE license be granted to A. Haetings, Motion oarried.
Officer Oole, suggested that Beer parlors 'in the Village that allow
dancing and music, he,ordered to provide ~u Officer, deputized by the
Village Oouncil, to mantain order and the ienforcement of the village
Ordinances.
Trustee Yoet offered the following resolution and moved its adoption,
"That all Beer Parlors in the Village of Mound , when dancing is permitt~
be required to hire an Officer at their own expense, to maintain order,
said Officer to be deputized by the Village Council, said Officer to be cn
duty between the hours of 9 P.M. and closing time, for the maintenance
of order and the enforcement of Law and Ordinances, and that all music
shall cease at la o'clock each an~ every night ,
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by Trustee March, and upon vote being taken thereon, the resolution
was duly adopted.
Motion by Trustee Tuff }hat an amendment to the previous motion, that
Proprietors of Beer ParAors may be ~e~ depu%ized as an officer,
there being no second, the previous motion was voted on and adopted.
Motion by Tuff seconded by Horton, that a danger light be installed
at.Scion .corner, Motion carried.
MotiOn byMarch seconded by Yost , that Mt. Tuff investigate the expense
and m~intenauoe of such a light, Motion carried.

Motion by Trustee March, That Gee R. Cole be allowed $50.00 out of
Water Fund for the supervision of the Water Main Construction
Improvements No B & 3, Motion secondeAby Yost, Motion carried.
Bills were read, and on Motion by March seconded by Yost, that bil~
be paid and Clerk instructed to draw warrants for same, Motion carri~
