RESOLUTION APPROVING DISSOLUTION OF
WEST HENNEPIN ItUMAN SERVICES PLANNING
BOARD, A.K.A. SUBURBAN ALLIANCE
WHEREAS, the West Hennepin Human Services Planning board, also known as
Suburban Alliance, was established by joint powers agreement in 1973 to provide human
services planning and coordination in western Hennepin County; and,
WltEREAS, due to financial difficulties, Suburban Alliance is no longer able to perform
the functions for which it was created; and,
WHEREAS, Suburban Alliance has identified the City of Mound as a member of
Suburban Alliance; and,
WHEREAS, the mutual agreement of all Suburban Alliance board members is required
to terminate Suburban alliance; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Mound disputes that it is a member of Suburban Alliance, but
does not wish to delay the dissolution of Suburban Alliance; and,
WltEREAS, in taking the action provided for in this resolution, the City of Mound is
not agreeing to assume any obligation heretofore incurred by the Suburban Alliance or to assume
any cost occasioned by its dissolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Mound
as follows:
The City of Mound hereby declares its intent to dissolve its relationship with the
West Hennepin Human Services Planning Board, also known as Suburban
Alliance, such dissolution to be effective January 31, 1997, to the extent such
action is necessary to the dissolution of Suburban Alliance.
