1938-04-05MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE MOUND VILLAGE COUNCIL
April 5th, 1938.
Responding to roll call were Mayor Huestis, Trustees Yost, T~ff, &
Wlnkel, and Alwin, Recorder. '
The meeting opened with a discussion of double glazed versus'
wood panels for the ID' x 10' push-up door to be installed in the
fire-truck storage ~;:be prepared in the Village Storage garage.
It Being a solution %0 the window problem at the front end of the
room, it was moved by Alwin that the door in question be installed
with glass, but without wire mesh, and that the plan otherwise pro-
cee~ according to the materials as advertised.. This was seconded
By Tuff and ca~ied.
Following a reading of the agreement offered by N. E. Pardee, att'y,
as between the Village of Mound and the Baptist Assembly Ass'ri.,
a corporation, for the extensioh of the village water service to
members of the association, it was moved by Alwin and se¢.onded by
Yost that the village accept the agreement as presented. This was
concurred in by the council.
On the suggestion of Mayor Euestis, the council agreed without
motion that the clerk bill the Sentu~y Sand and Gravel Co., ef
Minneapolis, for gravel and rock supplied by the village in the
recovery of all-weather surface on Dell Street followiB~ the
demolition of a portion of this street By the said company in
establishing an outlet for the school septic tank.
It was moved by Alwin, after discussion, that the council
accept the pencil-drawn plats with 'estimates presented by
C. F. Sandhoff, covering street surveys and proJecte4., improve-
ments, and present them for rejection or acceptance to the Works
Progress Administration. This was seconded by Winkel and concurred
in by the council.
Following the presentation and reading by Alwin of a village
zpnir~ law adapted to village needs and circumstances, and designated,
in anticipation of acceptance, as Ordinance No. 40 of Village Laws
and Regulations, it was moved By Trustee C. L. Tuff %hat action upon
this ordinance be postponed until the next regular meeting of the
council and after the publication of the ordinance in one issue of
the Mlnnetonka Pilot. This motion Was seconded by Yost and passe~
by the council.
A motion was made by Trustee Tuff' that Mayor HUestis be delegated
%0 represent the village council at the next near meeting of the
Minnetonka Improvement Association. Trustee Yost seconded this and
i% was approved by the council.
Following presentations by L. J. Bowers of the Fire Department,
it was moved by Trustee Winkel that the village fire ho~e be recoupled
if the cost is no greater than $50.00. This was seconded by Alwin
and passed By the council.
On ~ayor Huestis suggestion, the Village Recorder was instructed
to write the Watertown Tel. Co. asking that the Company conform to
law and requirements in hard-surfacing portions of Main ~tree% torn
up in the laying of telephone wires.
Mayor Huestis appointed Alwin as chairman,
Winkel to serve as auditing committee to audit
the treasurer 's books.

The State t~ank of ~ound presenting a renewing policy on
Liquor Store stock insurance with a principal amount of $1,500.00
and an annual premium of $32.40, it was moved by Alwin that the
council accept the renewal as presenteff and that .a warrant be
drawn to cover the premium. This was seconded by ~ost and concurred
in by~he general council.
On Supt. G. R. Cole's suggestion, it was moved by Alwin that
25~ of J. C. Stein's salary be drawn from the water fund. Tr-Gstee
Yost seconded this, the council approving.
