1938-06-07~INUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE MOUND VILLAGE COUNCIL Held June 7th, 1538. Present and responding to",,roll-call at this meeting were W. C. Huestis, Mayor; Trustees Yost, Tuff, and Wtnkel, and Alwin, Recorder. The following appointees on the Board of Zoning Appeal were presented by Mayor Huestis and received the unanimous approval of the village council: H. I. Horton, Chairman; J. C. Krause, G. A. TYler, N. E. Pardee, and W. Madsen. ~..~ayor Huestis also announced the appointment Of ~r. Irving Ket~ke as Building Inspector, which also received the unanimous agreement of the council. Concurrence of the council in the above appOint- ments was on motion by Trustee Yost, Alwin seconding. On motion by Trustee Yost, Trustee Tuff seconding, the council s.greed to renew Policy xdo614 with Harlin & Westerlund on the village truck, and Policy 1728776 with the Mound Bank covering Public Liability ~.nd Property Damage and with the village Fire Truck the object of protection. The clerk, however, was instructed to calculate an increase in the principal amount of the latter because of added equipment. The council agreed, on motion by Alwin, Yost seconding, to pay the purchase price and the cost of installing a new radiator in the village fire t~uck, this on the recommendations of Trustee Winkel. The Fire Dept. was to have sole supervision of the work. The application of Raymond Wolf for a Building Permit was read before the council. On motion by T~ustee Tuff, Yos% seconding, the council approved the application ahd ordered the permit issued. With reference to the improvement of Lot 15, Auditors Subdivision No. 170, which the village agreed to buy, and which the Mound Civic Club, through is committee of Sheldon Beise, EVan Jones, and Bob 0'Bonnell, was sponsoring as a baseball park, it was movea by trustee Yost that the committee first confer with the W. P. A. office at 416 First Avense, N., Minneapolis, about labor facilities for such a project and then report back to the council. This was seconded by Trustee Winkel, and the council concurring. Albert Berg, 2205 W. Broadway, Minneapolis, potential purchaser of Mac's Tavern, asked for an extension of time to November, 1938, for developing the sanitary requirements of the place, a condition which had previously been pressed by the council. The council agreed to such an extension on motion by Alwln, Yost seconding. Ap~ion,worded to pave Lynwold Ave., Lake ~_~tr., and Watertown Hoad with "Black Top" wholly at village expense because of being an arterial street and bearing signatures of most of the frontage, was read before the council. After discussion, it was suggested by Mayor Huestis, with general agreement, that the clerk wait for legal advice on plans for a divided cost as between village and frontage and then call a special meeting for action by the council. Following an audit of the village accounts, and a favorable report of the ~ommittee on Audits at this meeting, it was moved by Trustee C. L. Tuff that the report be approved and accepted as presented. This was seconded by Huestis, in Trustee ~ost's enforced absence from the council, and the council concurring.
