Those respo, ndir~ to. rollcall were ~ayor '~. C. Hues~is, Trustees Frank Yost, C. L. Tuff, and Reruard ~inkel, and Alwln, Recorder. The minute9 of the Regular ~eeting of August 2nd ~,nd of the Special Neeting of September 2nd being read and ~.pproved, the meeting opened to a he,ring on bid for the in~tall~.tion of an automatic warm air heating plant for the ~ire Barn and the Villsge ~torage Garage. ~tds read were from t~ ~$~terbury Co.,, ~inne~polis, ~ffering a ~lower t~pe oilburning 30 in furnace, fully in,tailed ~nd automatic with a 1,O00 gal oil tank ~ubmerged outside, $880.00; and the ~ound Hardware Co., offering a Perfect Furnace ~nd ~ Crano Oil ~urner, the same in ~ubstance and principle as the Waterbury-~illiam~ Oilomatic combination, with a 265-gal tank of inside Inst~ll~,tion,$593.00. On ~otion by ~ost, Alwin seconding, the council awarded the contract to the lowest bidder, i. e., the ~ound H~rd~¥are Co.. In the presence of Leonard Olson, of ~ound, and James Shea of 3931 Dupont ~Ave., N., Ninneapolis, ~a~tles?iof~,in%~est, the Road Committee presented dat%a supplied by Hr Walter ~atson, drainage Engineer, ~overlng a tile drain a.!~ng Marrison Ave., under ~akefield, and emptying into Harrisons Bay, the same of two catch basins and taper- ing from ten.to eight-inch tile over a distance of 400-odd ft. and at a depth sufficient to supply basement drainage f~ the principals above, and because of which latter provision $30.00 of the $200.00 cos% was to be d&vided be%ween them. On motion by winke~, Tuff seconding, the council approved the project snd ordered it in under the term~ as given. ~he Council next opened snd read bids From the ~tate B'ank of ~ound, the J. P. Reed Insurance Agency, and the ~mployers ~utual Liability Lnsurance Co. covering Public Liability and Workman's Compensation Lnsurance ,for the village. After hearing statements from }~r. Noyes of t~ Employers Nutual, from t.~r. Reed of his own AgaricS, ~nd from ~?.r. Koehler of the ~ank, the council, on motion by ¥ost, Winkel second- Lng, awarded the Public Liability c,ontrs..,cts for the LiQuor ~tore and the Village to the Mound Bank Agaric.y, and the, Workman's Compensation, on motion hy Alwin, Winkel seconding, to the Reed agency, which represented the Travelers Insurance Co. of Hartf.ord, Conn. in its bid. However, ~nasmuch as the Travelers Ins. Co. required a combination c~ontract (two policies) of Public Liability and Workman's Compensation i,n ord.er to. make ~,Vorkman's Compensa~tion ~cceptable to it, Nr Reed l.nterJected the ~ltuminous Casualty. Co. as insuror in lieu of the Travellers. (By later action of members of the counciL1, not in fprms!, meeting,~ but by mutual agreement via telephone, the from- Travelers-to-Bituminous shift of the Reed Agency was considered an imperfect bid that should not have been recognized at the regular meeting. The council, therefore, r~cinded its action and ~warded the contr~.ct for l~orl~nan's Compensation Insurance to the Employers' ~utual. ) Chairman ~lnkel of the Road Committee reported on the Bruckelmeter corner, involving portions of Lots 31 & 32, Lynwold Park in @ proposal of lengthening the turn and widening thestreet at this point, %he price asked being $50.00 for the four feet in from the corner stake. The price not being acceptable to the council, the proposal was remanded back to the committee for further consideration by the principals. 422 VILLAGE OF MOUND '~. H. A. Koehler petitioned for a 2" water service u~ Linden ~treet from the main on Dell .... treet, the same to supply water to his own home (~uperceding the su~oly through the ~;i'ound ~hores r~ystem) and a group of cottage~ behind him and the Gebo residence ].ongside. The srr~'~ngement proposed was to have two controlling shutoff s, one a,~fecting the Oebo and Koehler Residence~ fronting on Dell and the other ,:.f.~.ecting the cottages facin? Church. The matter was put into the hand:? of the Water Com~,itlee composed of 2lwin ~nd. Tuff. On motion by Trustee Most, Trustee C. L. Tuff seconding, the Village ~ ecorder was instructed to purchase -'n addresoing machine with necessary ecuipment to t~ke care of t'a~ vill;~ge w~ter bills, the cost to be taken from the w.~ter fund.'lhi~' '~ met general ~o~rov~I of the council. Yost ~nd seconded by Trustee C. L. Tuff, that "On" Sale, "Off" Sale, and Soft Drink licenses be issued to George Raemer to cover the initial fee of $56.00 paid by the s~pplicant.
