VILLAGE OF MOUND
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE MOUND VILLAGE COUNCIL HELD

'lq~e meeting convened on routine procedure; these attendlD~ and
responding te roll-call were Mayer W. $, Huestls~ ?~ustees
Frank Test, C. L. ~ff, and Bernard Winkel, and LeRey V. Alwin,
R~o.rder.
After the reading and approval-el the minutes of the previous
meeting, the council, en motion by Alwin, Test seconding, appropria-
ted the fellewing sums to cover village expenses for the year
1939: $7,500.00 for-the General Fund, and $2,500.00 fer the Poor
Relief found. The voting ef ~25~00.00 for .the Relief Fund was
contingent upon the preposition that the bulk ef it was te be used
te liquidate anappreximately $2,000.00 indebtedness of the Relief
Fund to the General Fund incurred at a time when ne prevision had
been made for peer relief and all relief expense was taken out ef the
~eneral Fund. This received the full approval of the council.
Out ef council discussion arose the suggestion, without motion or
second, that the Village Recorder inquire of the County Auditor
as te whether the ~eund School.has been listed for the Special
Assessment covering water mains improvement. If net, then the
Recorder was te present a bill for the entire amount ef the assess-
ment plus 65 interest compounded since 1~34.
Trustee C. L. Tuff presented the following resolution, te wit:
Resolved that the polls for the general election of ~ovember 8th,
1~38, be opened at 9 o'clock A. M., and be closed at 8 o'clock
P.M. The vote being for the adoption of the res~lutlon, it stood
as follows: For,Yes%, Tuff, Winkel, Alwin. Against, none. And'
so th~ resolution stood adopted.
Mayor Euestis, with council approval, made the following appointments
e~ the Election Beard to preside at the general election ef November
8th, 1938: Mrs. Mary$1ewwe and LeRoy V. Alwin to serve as ~lerks
of Electiom for the entire time ef the voting and counting, and
Mrs. Andrew Hafstad to serve as Alternate Clerk ~-the counting
only, work te begin at 8 o'clock P. M. ~urther, that C. L. ?uff,
· . P. Leakley, and William Xlckhafer, Sr. were te serve as full-time
Judges of Election, and that Chas A. Andersen was te serve as
Alternate Judge fer the counting only; his time te begin with the closing
ef the poles. The Village Recorder was instructed tenetify the
aopointees accordingly.
With reference to the poor condition ef the streets about the school
following building eperatioms at that point, ?rustee Framk Test
presented a resolutiom as follows: Resolved that ne contractor
connected with building operations at the school be released from
bend. until all ef the streets surrounding the school are brought
back te geed repair, and that tbs Village Recorder communicate with
the School Board te that effect. ~ vote being taken en the
adoption of the resolution, it stood as follows: Teas, Test,
Tu~f, Winkel, Alwin. Nays, none. AnA se it stood adopted.
Mayor Huestis appointed Trustees Winkel. Tufi', and Alwin to serve
as a committe to approve the installation of automatic heating
equipment at the Fire Barn by the Mound Hardware Os. Following
an approving demonstration, a village warrant of ~200.00 was te be
issued on account.
VILLAGE OF MOUND
Following a discussien between W. H. A. Koehler and members of
the council in connection with the servicing ef water to the
Keehler, Gebo, and Painter residences by means cf a single
extension, or system, it was agreed by the. council te leave
the matter in the handw of the Mayor and Village Recorder for
solution. This on motion by Yest, seconded by Tuff.
The eellowing bills were approved and ordered paid:
