Nov. 7th, 1938.
Responding to roll call were Nayor W. C. Huestis, Trustees
Fralmk Yost, C. L. Tuff, Bernard Winkel, and with Alwin as Recorder.
The meeting opened with the following appointments by the Mayor,
with council approval, to serve on the Election Board presiding
at the annual Village Eleetlon to be held on Doc. 6th, 1938:
C. L. Tuff, F. P. Leakley, and William Klckhafer, Sr. to serve
as Judges of'Election, and Nfs. Nargaretta Glewwe and LeRoy ¥. A/win
to serve as Clerks of Election.
In connection with designating the time of the poll, Trustee
C. L. Tuff presented the following resolution, to wit: That
the polls be opened at 12 o'clock no~n, Dec. 6th, 1938, and closed
at 8 o'clock P. M. of the same day. This resolution was adopted
by unanimous vote.
Following the reading before the council of letters from F. A. Gilbert,
Director Commodity Distribution, State Relief Agency, and from
Joseph C. Vesely, Temp. ~ec'y, Suburban Henn. Co. Relief Beard,
which letters stressed the appointment, by the council, of a
certifying officer for the village in connection with surplus
commedit~s, W. p. A. and C. C. C. assignments; and, further,
action by the council in the acceptance of the new plan of a
deeentral&zed control of all relief matters, whether direct or
indirect, w. p. A., or C. C.C., Trustee Frank Tost presented the follow-
ing resolution, ~amely, That the Village of Nound accepts and
agrees to participate in the new plan of decentralized control
of relief in Hennepin County and abide by its requirements as they
shall be acceptably amended from time to time and that the
Village Recorder communicate such ~ction to the various parties of
interest.
The motion being on the adoption of the resolution, it stood
unanimous, following a vote of the council.
There being no further work immediately pressing, the council
stood adjourned.
