Conforming to approved minor changes, the following appointees were
sworn in as a board of election:

The flag was mounted and the polls ooened at 12 noon to decide upon
the following ballot:
"Shall the Villsge of Mound issue Bonds
in the amount of Eight Thousand Dollars
($8,000.00) for the purpose of buying
and improving the Cook's Bay Tavern and
adjoining lots os s village Community
Club House and Park expansion project."
With the closing of the polls at 8 P. M. ~Wo-Hundred-and-Ftfty-0ne
(251) voters had been listed. With the conclusion of the count at
9:50 P. M. the vote stood as follows:
Voting for the bond issue ..... 214
Voting against the bond issue.'37
Total ........................
Since, under the law, 5/8 of the total count was n~eded to vote the
issue; nn~lely, 157 votes, and since the actual "Yes" count stood
6ix votes short of being 7/8, the oooular ~uthortzatton for bonds
s%ood'.with a comfortable m~rgin.
At. 10:00 P..~., following the above balloting and count, ~ayor
Krause called the council in special nesslo~ to receive and pass
upon the above authorization for the ~ssuanc-e of $8,000.00 worth
of Village of ~ound Park Improvement Bonds. Responding to roll-call
were Mayor J. C. Krause, trustees, ~. F. Winkel ~nd C. R. Ferrall,
with Alwin as Clerk-Recorder. Trustee Evan Jones was absent.

The legally prepared form of the minutes of-this Council Can-
vassing ~oard meeting is as follows: '
Aspecial ~eeting of the Villa.ge Council of the Village of
~ound was held at the Council Room in the Village Mall o~ said
Village on the 27th day of ~ay, 19~0, at 10:00 o'clock P. ~.,
said Village Council meeting ~s ~ ca. nv~slng board to declare
the results apoearlug from the retorts of a ~peolal election
held in said village on said da~ between the ho~of 12 ~. and
8 P. ~. to determine the vote of the electors of the village on
the ~uestion of i~uing bonds in t~ s~ of $8,000.00 for the
purpose of acquiring and improving certain l~nd~ for psrk p~-
oo~e~;
And the report of the Judges of Election having been duly
returned to the Clerk, ~,nd it appearing from ~uch report of the
vote that the number of vote~ f~voring the i~ue of bond~ for s~id
purpose wa~ 214, .~nd the number oooo~ed to the i~u~nce of bonds
was 37, ~nd it ~poe~rlng that more th~n 5~8 m~Jority ~pproving
the is~u=nce of bonds had been obtained in ~ld election,
NOW THEREFORE, IT I~ HEREBY DMEL~RED that the electors of the
Village voting on the Cuestlon of issuing the obligations ~bove
n~med h~ve aporoved the proDos~l by obtaining ~ 5/8 majority, ~nd thor the
same is approved.
