Responding to roll-call, after delay, were ~ayor J. C. Krause, trustees
~. F. WinkeI ~.nd C. R. Ferrall, with Alwin as Clerk-Recorder. Trustee
Jones aopeared later.
The purpose of the meeting being to reopen bids and to give each bidder
a sepsrste hearing, it was moved by Trustee WinkeI that all bidders
withdraw from the council room and that bidders be called to the
table in the order in which their bids were original~ read to state
their oropomltions. Trustee Ferrall guoported this motion, the council
concurring:

Favoring local bidders and on the basis of the above bids, Trustee
Jones moved that the contract for a new 1~ ton truck be ~warded to
~. C. Finley with the definite understanding that the same wac to
be e~ulpt with a 7" St. Paul Hydraulic Hoist and body and a dual power
rear axe. Trustee ~Inkel suovorted this motion, the council concurring.
Trustee ~Inkel followed thi~ with a motion that a contract for ~ ~ ton
Chevrolet "Pick uo" truck be awarded to H. J. Rondorf. Trustee ~errall
supported this motion the council agreeing.
After hearing all bidders with respect to fire ho~e, it was moved by
Trustee FerraI1 that a contra,t for a hundred-and-fifty feet~of fire
ho~e be awarde~ to John McPhee (American-LaFrsnoe-Foamite Corp.) at
$1005, and that a contract for a hundred feet of hose be awarded
to the Eureka Fire Hose Co at the same price. ~inkel seconded the
motion, the council concurring.
Petitions being presented, including a letter over the signature of
Wm. I Creig, requesting th~ oiI be laid down on Highland Boulevard,
on Highland Avenue, ?nd on ~ound Avenue to the l~tters Junction with
~tate Highway 110, it was moved by Trustee Ferrall that the clerk
assure himseIf as to the orecentage of frontage represented on the
oetltion ~nd then proceed to the laying of oil. Thi~ motion was
seconded by Winkel, the council agreeing.
