As arranged at the regular meeting of August 6th, 1940, this meeting convened at 7:30 P. M. Responding to. roll-call w~re Mayor J. C. Kre. use Trustees B. F. Winkel and C. R. Ferrall, with Alwln as Clerk-Recorder. Trustee Evsn Jones appesred later. The purpose of the meeting, principally, was to receive bids on the building of footings for the Village Club House and the moving from its present site of the Cook's Pay Tavern. Before this got under way, however, ~r. E. C. Streater of the Strester Lumber Co., 2pring Park, presented for the approval of the council a plat ~ividing into seven lots, with an appropriate alley, of ~lock 7, Shirley Hills Unit "B". After ~ careful study o~ the plat by the council, it was moved by Trustee B. F. Winkel that such pla~ting and rearrangement into seven lots with alley of Block T, Shirley Hills Unit "P" be accepted and approved by the Mound Village Council and that a blue orlnt of the same be filed in the archives of the village. This motion was supported by Trustee Evan Jones, the whole of the council concurring. The following bids were opened and read: For the building of footings: G. A. Tyler ................... ?~6~GOO G. A. Tyler's bid being disqualified because of errors, it was moved by Trustee Ferrall that the contract for building footings be °warded to the L. E. Streater Lumber Co. of Spring Park and that the contract for moving the Cook's ~ay Tavern be given to W. F. Krause. Trustee Jones seconded this motion, the council concurring. It was further moved by Trustee Jones that the footings for the Village~ Club House be completed no later than September 15th next, and that the Club House be placed on the footin~ on OeptembeP 25th, ~nd under no' circumstances later thsn Oct. 1st, 1940. Trustee F~rr~ll supported this motion, lhe council ~reeing.
