1940-11-25536 VILLAGE OF MOUND ~INUTES OF THE SPECIAL ~ETING 0F THE 5{OUND VILLAGE CO'U~CIL HELD NovemBer 25th, 1940. 'i'he meeting convened at 7 e'eleck P.M. Responding to roll call were ~ayor J. C. Krause, Trustees B'; F, '.~inkel amd C. R. Ferrall, with Alwin as recorder. The purpose of the meeting was to recelve and consider investigating committee reports foll~ing action taken at the adjourned regular meeting of Nov. ?th with reference to water main extensions proposed for ~he Shirley Hills District and for Mound Terrace at Dutch Lake. Present at tbs meetlng was ~r; E. C. Streater to represent the Streater interests in the Shirley Hills project. After ,ensiderable discusmion directed toward bringing a water sunoIy to new home construction ~n newly platted lots in ~lock ?, ~hirley Hills, Unit "~", the council was agreed t~ pass a resolution, authorized by legal counsel, the same to be prep~re~ and pre~ented for passage at the neXt reguIar meeting of the council on December 5th, 1940, and in which 'the counell would tnltta~ the laying of appreximately 500 ft of 6 in. main North along County Highway Mo. 7, and apprexlmately 200 ft. of'2 in. copper to serve a clustered ~ in. spread over Lots 1 to ?, ~lock 7, ~hlrley Hills, Unit "B". In the wording of thlm anticipated resolution the financing and laying of this project wa~ to be proteete~ by easements and agreements as between the village of Mound and ~r. E. C. Streater as promoter and owner.. The ~ouncil listened to a report ~ Attorney N. E. Pardee cover- the p~ocee~n~a cf a hearing before the District Court of ~orrison Coun~/~~$~$~ce t, the settlement for poor relief of ~r. Paul Orson English and wife and in which the Village of ~ound was representSd by ~r Pardee, as attorney, and by Alwin as recorder. The court had definitely established settlement in the village of ~ound. '~here being ne. further business before the meeting, it was agreed to a~eurne~nti! the deferred meeting time of December 5th.
