M. and resoonding to roll-call were ~ayor J. C. Krause, Trustees B. F. Winkel snd C. R. Ferrall, with Alwln as Recorder. Trustee Jones was absent because of the time. The puroose of the meeting wss to act on a petition for further water main extensions in the Shirley Hills District. This petition read as follows: To the Mound Village Council In Council Assembled: Gentlemen: We, the undersigned legal property ~wners, representing a majority of the Lots and fvot-frontage in a section of County Road No. 7 lying between the intersections of ~ontclair and Rosedell Avenues with the above first named street, petition your body for a water main extension 0eginninE with the present hydrant terminus alt the intersection of Montclair and County No. 7 and continuing the main westerly' along County No. 7 to its intersection with ~osedell Avenue where it is to Join the main already laid down or contracted for. Tuff Lot 14, Plock 4 - 50 ft. lot ±0, Block 2, Unit "a" After reading the above petition, the clerk made the following report: Petition for the extension of water mains on County Highway No. 7 between ~ontclair and Hosedell Avenues having been filed with the Clerk of the Village Council of the Village of Mound, I hereby certify that uoon comparison oftthe records in the office of the Register of Deeds, Hennepin County, Minnesota, I find that the petitioners are owners in fee simple of more than fifty-one (51) per cent in frontage of the real property abutting on the streets named in the petition ~r-,~Roy .V.. Having he~rd the clerk's report on the ownership involved in the above petition, Trustee Ferrall presented the following resolution, to wit: WHERMA9 a petition has been filed with the Clerk of the Village of Mound by. Herman S. Tuff and wife, C. L. Tuff snd Wife, and Edward C. attester, praying for an extension of the water mains on County 552 VILLAGE OF MOUND Ufghway Mo. 7 between ~,¢ontclair and Rosedell Avenues, and it having been duly reoorted to the council by the village Clerk thet he has fourfl uoon examination of the records in the office of the ~egister of Deeds that the petitioners are the owners of more than fifty-one (51) per cent in frontage of the real estate abutting on said streets. NOW, THEREFORE, be it hereby resolved that it is determined that the petition i~ signed by the reaulred per centage of owners in frontage of the real property abutting on said street. The motion for adoption being seconded by Alwln, the vote of the council stood unanimous. And so the resolution stood adopted. To verify feasibility of the undertaking, Trustee Ferrall presented the following resolution: A petition for the extension of water mains on County Highway Mo. 7 having been presented to the council by Herman S. Tuff, C. L. Tuff, snd T. C. ~treater, MOW, THEREFORE, be it hereby resolved that the petition be refer- red to ~¥alter ~.~sdsen, a civil engineer, and thst he be directed to reoort thereon to the Council. .~lwin seconding the motion for adoption, the vote of the couocil stood unanimous. .~nd so the resolution stood ~.dooted. To establish the time end purpose of a public hearing on the above, Trustee Ferrall oresented the following resolution: Petition having been made by the owners of more than fifty-one (51) per cent in frontage of the real property abutting on the streets hereln~fter named for the extension of w~ter m~In~ on ~td streets, to wit: On County Highway No. 7 between the intersections of t~ontclair snd Rosedell Avenues, NOW, THEREFORE, Be it hereby resolved that said petition shall be considered and action taken in reference to the matter at its ~oecial Ueetlng of the Village Council of the Village of ~ound, on Thursday, the 30th day of January, 19~1, at 8 o'clock, P. M., and thet the Village Clerk be directed to give notice thereof to all oersons by publication of this resolution once each week for two successive weeks in the ~'innetonk~ Pilot, the last oublication to be at least seven days prior to the date of besting. The improve- ment oetltione~ for is for the extension of wster mains for the ouroose od furni~hlnE adeeuate water service snd fire orotection in the oarts of the viltsge abutting on said ~treets ~nd sdJ~cent ~bereto and the estimated co~t of said improvement i~ the sum of !~2,340.00. Having concluded the above resolution, it receiving the second of Alwin, the vote of the council stood unanimous. And so the resol~tion stood sdopted.
