The purpose of the meeting was to receive bids on the whole work including m~.teri~.I~, in connection with w~ter mstn exten.~ton~ in the Shirley Hills District ~nd as sdvertised in the ~innetonka ~ilot of Febru~ry 6%h, 1941. Present, or represented, under the above circum- stances were '~m. C. ~razier & 9on of St. Paul, ?.~inn,, Jacobs ~ros. of Bird Island, ~inn., Lametti & Lamettl of ?outh St. Paul, ~'~lnn., Chris Jensen of V~lnona, },¢inn., The R~rnet~ & Redord Co., of "'Innespolis, and ':,~alter T. ~adsen of ~ound. Responding to roll-call of the council were ~ayor J. C. KraUse, Trustee ~. ~. Winkel, C. R. Ferr~ll, and Evan Jones, with Alwin ~s ~ecorder. ~'ollowing the openin~ of the meeting, the following bids were opened and read out loud in order: ~m C. Jacob Bros ................... $16,245.00..accomo~nylng certified check $ 1,800.O0, at work by April 1st, 194I, complete by June 30th, 1941. Lamettl & Lamettt ........... ~14,633.50..~ccompanylng certified check $ 1,?OO.OO, at work within 30 days, completed in June, 19&l. Out. of the circumstances of the above bid disparity, cerZifled checks were returned to the three highest bidders, i. e., 'Tm C. Frazler & ~on, Jacobs ~ros., snd Lame~ti & Lametti. /~fter the reading and appraisal of the above bids, and following consultation, it was finally agreed by the council to withhold action on the bids until after the council bed met to'reach an agreement as a committee of the whole, date for such s.n adjourned s.~ecial meeting to be February 24th, 1941, at ~:30 P. ~. This was put to motion by Trustee Evan Jones, Trustee !¥inkel sunporting, the council concurring. The aoplicati&n of J. C. Krause for s ~uilding Permit to make a rear end extension on his hardware store being presented to the council for approval, it wa~ moved by Trustee Ferrall that the same be allowed.
